Extremely Poor Experience – Money Taken, No Orders Processed.
I am beyond frustrated with my experience with The Royal Mint. Their website failed multiple times while placing orders, yet my card was charged twice for transactions that never actually processed. Nearly £2,000 has been taken, and there are no confirmed orders showing on my account.
I have contacted them repeatedly, but after some initial communication they have now stopped responding altogether. Meanwhile, my bank has refused to refund the payments because the transactions appear authorised.
To make matters worse, their “new” website launched today is still clunky, unreliable, and throwing 500 errors during checkout. For a company of this size and reputation, this is simply unacceptable. Taking customers’ money without successfully processing orders and then failing to resolve the issue promptly is not how a trusted institution should operate.
At this point after 3 days of stress, I just want my money refunded and proper accountability. Extremely disappointed.

Well...see my first review dated Feb 3rd 2026 (one star).
Now Feb 11th, but my account is still not opened.
My review prompted a quicker response on here from 'Tara' than I'd previously got direct from The Royal Mint, but Tara did reply on the 5th.
However, it was a glorious word-salad which failed to actually answer my questions, saying, "Thank you for your email and bringing this to our attention. We fully understand the importance of completing the required verification checks as swiftly as possible and rest assured our customer support team are doing everything possible to ensure all required checks are completed in a timely manner. I will escalate your concerns to our customer support team to address promptly.
I would like to address your comments in regards to our phone lines. please accept my sincere apologies for this. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, the phonelines remain down. We are working closely with our external partner to rectify this situation as soon as possible."
-No dates, no progress report since then, a yawning void of carelessness. Utterly dismal experience so far, for which (as they say), one star is too generous.

You can't even make this up...
Been trying to login to my account to make a purchase. Each time I tried to login it's says "Unable to Login". I tried different devices, different browsers, changed PW. Finally contacted the "customer service" informed them of the issue. They replied saying if I login to my account and send them my account number they'll look in. How can I do that when the website is glitching. Clearly they didn't even read my email which was called "Trouble logging in". You honestly couldn't make this up...
No phone lines, no replies on messenger and clearly don't even read emails. It's our national mint and it's an embarrassment. Worst of all, they're now out of stock of the item I wanted to buy, I'm gutted!
Order not received as yet
placed order for a couple of silver bullions from The Royal mint. It has been over 7 days now and haven't received the goods. the item is in stock and do not see why it could not have been dispatched immediately.

Possibly the worst company I've dealt with. Deivery was due end of January and did not arrive. Tried to chase but their phone is shut down and am told emails take weeks . so far, to get a reply. Utterly useless.

I bought a product showing in stock and delivery showing within 3-5 working days.
When the 5th working day past I sent an email and Royal Mint said my order would be delivered shortly within 5-7 working days of order.
I’ve still not received confirmation of delivery.
I chose to order from the Royal Mint and pay a premium thinking they’d be a good reliable company.
The company’s phones are not working apparently a technical issue which has been weeks now, has to be an excuse in this day and age.
Very disappointed, I’m in the dark it’s causing anxiety and I would not use again.
The product is still showing in stock on the website…..

The Best Bullion Experience
the Royal Mint compared to others were 100% perfect, reliable & informative thru-out the buying process.
A coin was missing from my delivery!
After placing my order I didn’t get any acknowledgment until the order was dispatched.
The coins were delivered by DHL and 1 was missing! After contacting the Royal Mint by phone I was eventually contacted by email about a week later.
Despite then sending photos that clearly showed 1 packet was missing I received an email to say the photo showed they were all there. I then numbered the packets in the photo and it was acknowledged that I was correct.
I have now been advised that I need to wait nearly 2 months for the replacement.
I have experienced more delivery security with low price eBay purchases!!
If we had been out I believe the DHL driver would have left them on the doorstep!

DHL also subcontract to any white van courier who don't follow instructions and never ask for a signature. Otherwise I'm very happy with the royal mint service

Why don’t they upgrade the website
Why don’t they upgrade the website, it’s a bit troublesome and annoying.
I know the metal is precious, but the whole service is not good.
I have an order on 30 Jan 2026, but it is still pending for delivery.
And then, when I input data to link up my bank account, it keeps showing incorrect information. I can’t complete the process at the end.

3 weeks since sending gold coins for sale
Well it’s 3 weeks since I sent the Royal
Mint Buyback team the 4 gold coins that my father left me to sell. After following all the instructions they provided, I have had exactly the same poor experience and can only agree with others who have written here that the lack of response from Royal Mint is surprising and disappointing from an organisation of such prestige and repute. Emails and phone calls unacknowledged. I am shocked and increasingly anxious about whether my coins have even been received at all or lost in the system, or even in a queue until the price of gold goes down for a reduced sale price. The absence of any information or customer care is now creating real concern and anxiety and I am regretting my decision to sell my legacy by this means.

Huge delays in buyback payment
I have used Royal Mint in the past with no issues however on 13th January I posted two gold sovereign coins for buyback by special delivery. I have sent two enquires since this date to confirm progress and have not received a response or payment for my coins. My last contact on 29/01 was to confirm that the special delivery was signed for at the Royal Mint PO Box on 14th January at 09:48am and i attached the signature and to reiterate that the insurance for this special delivery service was due to expire on 30th January (2 weeks after posting) and asking if you could confirm receipt of my coins. I have not had a reply from my enquires and I am now concerned you have not processed my buyback and my insurance with Royal Mail has expired and i have recieved no payment. I can see others have the same issue from reviews and this falls well below the standards you are advertising. I have also emailed your customer service inbox with no response and your telephone lines have been unavailable for over a week.
