How this company uses Trustpilot
See how their reviews and ratings are sourced, scored, and moderated.
The Trust pilot summary fails to mention the disturbing proposed TERMINATION of a tranche of policies with little regard for the consequences.
WE had thought that a Friendly Society could be trusted but No the Exeter has ruined our declining years.
Your reply only emphasises the Breach of trust. How many Members of the Society are affected and are amy going to have treatment terminated? This is a warning to all.

Awful experience with this Company. Was recommended to switch to them in December by my broker from Aviva. They failed to set up a DD to collect premiums, then wrote to me in February to say as two months premium have not been paid I am no longer covered. They said they don’t send out emails when premiums go unpaid. Appalling admin in this day and age.

Not Happy With Service at All. I have been with Exeter 6 Years now and this is my first Claim been awful experience so far and I cant tell you how stressful its all been. Not what you need when you are in pain and having to have an operation . I was recommended to use this company I wish I have never switched. I am so upset and stressed by it all. You need reassurance and kindness when you are ill this is what we pay these high premiums for. No one seems to care only the odd few.

the company is easy to contact, with staff who are helpful and polite. They keep me informed, promptly, by email and letter. I have a fairly complicated policy and the company's communications are clear and easy to understand.

The people you talk to are polite and helpful. The company itself made an effort and contributed to a claim that theyt did not, in law, have to pay.

Had to wait 3 days to get approval for a consultation for Orthopedic and even after that there was no approval in sight. Had no such poor response from previous insurers. We are looking for another insurer at present.

7 months down the line and so many hoops to jump through! Wouldn’t accept a consultants letter as referral for procedure and getting a GP to do anything has been more difficult than necessary! Had been with AXA who did all the leg work for their money. I wonder what I’m paying my premium for with The Exeter! Definitely finding an easier to use insurer after I have the procedure!!! Sometime in the next year hopefully as symptoms worsened dramatically in 7 months!!
Only plus for the one star was talking to their online GP promptly and easily.
