Embarrassing failure of a courier service.
Hermes is an absolutely appalling courier service, due to their business model of employing people on a part-time basis leading to zero accountability. Following an order through a company I have used to my old home address numerous times with no issue through a different courier, Hermes completely failed to deliver to my new address.
I received a message stating that the courier had been ‘unable’ to deliver my package for three days running, prompting me to call the company I had ordered through (there are no contact details on the Hermes website). They were able to track the driver through his device, and see that he had never been anywhere near my address. On the fourth day I had an email saying that the ‘business was closed’, despite supposedly attempting delivery at 2pm and us operating a 24 hour front desk. They said they could not deliver to me at that address, and I should get in contact with them through the details on their page (again, no such details are available). I had to resort to contacting the original company again to request a cancellation to the order, as I have zero faith in Hermes to deliver this package. At time of writing I am still waiting on a refund as Hermes have not yet returned the package to sender to complete the cancellation.
Avoid this courier service at all costs: if sending something yourself use another option, and if the company you want to order from uses Hermes consider collecting in-store or asking them to use a different courier.
