Trustworthy

I bought an end grain wooden carving board as a Christmas present. (It looked magnificent). After one use and a wipe down the wood split in one corner. I contacted Borough Kitchen, sent photos, answered a few questions and they sent a replacement to the recipients address and allowed him to keep the original board.
This is why I use Borough Kitchen for high end products, you can feel confident if anything goes wrong. I once had a problem, of my making, over a chef’s knife I ordered, they solved the problem.

Spoiled by cheap accessories.

I bought a small cross body handbag. I have a thirty year old The Bridge purse and a newer mobile phone holder. I love the metal The Bridge motif on the purse. The purse also had a metal zip pull tab. I chose this particular bag because it has a The Bridge motif badge on the front where the clasp to close the bag is. However this motif on my new bag is a cheap bright pale yellowish plastic badge which has been glued on (not straight). The bag’s strap fasteners and zip tabs are the same. It makes the bag look cheap. I might try and ‘age’ the main badge in an attempt to make it look like metal. I was so disappointed. (As an aside, the zip tab on my purse came off, I rang The Bridge to ask if I could buy a replacement and they said they aren't able to send one which I found strange). There are no stockists anywhere near me, had I seen the bag in a shop I wouldn’t have bought it.

Second The Bridge purchase from Wardow

Can’t fault Wardow. Good clear website, loads of choice, quick delivery by DHL.
( The Bridge have gone cheaper on their bags- cheap looking plastic The Bridge button rather than metal, would have returned if Wardow were in the UK).

Exasperated

I am writing on here because I’m exasperated. I ordered 3 items. They arrived late. One, a glass vase arrived damaged, the base was detached. It was glass, this can happen. Of the other two items, one was a bunch of faux flowers that had been stuffed into a box which was too small therefore they arrived scrunched up and damaged and couldn’t be given as a present. The final item arrived too late to be given as a birthday gift. I paid for the latter two to be returned on the 29 July and received an email confirming The White Company was aware of my return. I contacted them over the phone about the vase and was reimbursed quickly. After an email (ignored) and at least three phone calls where, after each interaction, I expected my refund I still have not received it. It’s nearly a month since the items were returned. I don’t know what else to do, a 4th phone call to them I presume but will I be fobbed off again? I have been a customer of The White Company since its inception (and Charles Tyrwhitt even longer). I have items in my basket on their website but I’m so cross I’m finished with them, in part because I previously had to ‘fight’ for a refund on a damaged item.

Can always trust Boden.

The dress I bought is lovely. Nice quality, treble buttoned cuffs and generous belt. Not a generous 14. Nice deep colours, I’m 5’7”, the dress finished above my ankles. I don’t know if it was a returned item or the packer wore strong perfume because the dress had a smell. Would have retuned but I needed a dress for an unexpected invite. Boden’s customer service is second to none and I know they would have dispatched another dress very quickly but not quick enough for my emergency!

Unique

Boots look good, sizing was as expected, nice leather and chunky buckle looks classy. Earrings are smaller than expected but perhaps I didn’t look more carefully, still lovely.

Good and bad

Large bulk item (Dry:Soon) bought was faulty. Fairly easy to return, luckily I didn’t discard the packaging. Returned on the 8/12, 10 days later I’d still not received a refund therefore had to call Lakeland (office hours) and ask for my refund. Contacting Lakeland was good, used the call back service which was quick and the refund was processed the next day.
I don’t know why only your last purchase is shown on the order history page in your account, for previous purchases you’re asked to contact Lakeland,

Good firm for the customer.

Arrived quickly. Bought two coats of different sizes. Kept the one which fit best and returned the other. Returns simple using the Post Office and a QR code with no need for a printer. Other ways to return too.
Boden’s customer care is second to none.
Coat was lovely by the way.

Good service

I contacted Debenhams via their Messages because the code for free standard delivery did not work on my order. Farwa tried ways to get the code to work but it didn’t so she suggested I place the order and she would refund me the cost of delivery. Which she did.
The goods arrived quickly too.
