Fixed the problem

Despite the stores attempt to not take responsibility for the cushion fails, persistence paid off, this firm were engaged to do an inspection, put new foam in the cushions and job done

Rubbish product

Rubbish product, worthless 5 year guarantee, spent 3000 on a three piece where the cushions have collapsed in under 3 years with little use, now being told only structure covered by the guarantee, not cushions, not what I was told when I parted with almost three grand in 2022 or when their inspector came out, sense a small claims action is on its way, will update if there's resolution, but not optimistic to be honest after speaking to the manager at Plymstock. DFS next time for me-now awaiting their generic response on here denying everything ps; they've responded below, but now they are pointing to the 'small print' in the guarantee document (20 pages of it!). Not much chance of reading that when a pushy salesman is breathing down your neck. Two points, first this is not 'wear & tear' some of cushions have become completely unconfortable despite very light use and secondly, I was TOLD the suite had a 5 year guarantee when making the purchase-now they refer to the small print excluding the cushions from that guarantee. Not mentioned when I handed my money over. Furthermore, they did not "follow up" after coming out, I had to phone three days running to get the result from their employees inspection, each time the promised call back never materialised, I will update as this matter goes on.

Good morning.
We are sorry that you feel your products have not performed as you expected and that you believe the 5 year guarantee to be worthless.
When you purchased your sofa and two chairs in 2022, you were given a Customer Information Pack (CIP) within which was a document outlining full details our 5 year structural guarantee. You can view the guarantee document here: www.fairwayfurniture.co.uk/customer-pack
In that guarantee, point 6 clearly states that 'normal wear and tear in use, including cushion softening and settlement......are excluded'.
It is therefore neither factually correct or fair to claim you were not given full details of the guarantee when you chose to make your purchase in 2022.
When you reported this issue in mid-October, we arranged for our experienced inspector to visit and report on what he found. He reported that while the cushions had softened, this was the normal and not the result of any manufacturing fault.
The store from which you made your purchase followed up with you after the inspection and you stated you did not agree with the findings. We have therefore agreed to, at our cost, arrange a further independent inspection. Once this inspection has been carried out, we will share the findings with you how the issue proceeds from there.
We want to help customers resolve any issues that arise, but this involves ensuring that all the facts are clear before doing so. It is disappointing therefore that you believe an established and reputable family-owned South West business would simply respond with a "generic response....denying everything", rather than, as we always do, take these issues seriously and seek a positive resolution.
Once your independent inspection has been carried out, we will be in touch to confirm what if any further action is required.

Our comprehensive Customer Information Pack - which contains care information on all the furniture we supply, our structural guarantee terms (of which there are 13 over half an A5 page, so not 20 pages as you state) and other useful information - is provided at the time of order, and customers are advised to read it and retain for future reference.
The salesperson was doing their job correctly when telling you about our 5 year guarantee at the time of order, as we always want customers to be aware of it. However, in common with almost every other furniture retailer - including DFS - guarantees cover the structural components only. Cushions and their interiors are excluded because they will soften by as much as 20% in use (which we set-out in our Customer Information Pack). Comfort is a subjective assessment and the same product used in different home environments will vary in how they feel after a few years.
As we have previously set-out, we have appointed an independent inspection provider to carry out an assessment and we will discuss offline with you their findings once it has been carried out.
Once again, we are sorry that you feel your products are not as comfortable as you had expected after 3 years.

Went from expensive to extortion

Contested Probate department. Cannot question their knowledge, but you get milked financially. Started off with a very detailed, well researched 14-page letter of claim plus quite a lot of documents read and included to the other side for just under £4000. Expensive, but I felt like I had some value from that work. Then £5000 later and I noticed letters being sent did not include all the issues which resulted in either second letters needed sending or email exchanges to their office running up my bill further to get things included. Eventually dumped them off when I asked for a simple 2 sentence email to a health authority to obtain some outstanding hospital records and they wanted £1000 plus vat just to send that single email and forward the records to me. Felt expensive to start but more like theft in the end, question it and you get ignored, not good.

Had a shaver head fail after 6 months

Had a shaver head fail after 6 months, contacted the customer services online which was difficult, eventually spoke to someone who passed me on & on again before returning to the original representative, then had to buy another & then claim a refund! Why can't they just replace a defective part beats me, but hopefully will get where to where I should with this. Update; on 3/11/23 I get yet another email confirming my payment but refusing to reimburse me until I send THEIR receipt confirming I paid back to them in a different format! What a ridiculous customer service-you pay to replace their duff parts while in warranty, then they want copies in all different formats of their own receipts-perhaps Remmington, Phillips, etc next time.

Excellent service & quality product

Always arrive very quickly, quality of the inks, which are not the recommended 'Brother' inks for my printer, are fine and do just as good a job for half the money

Disappointing product quality …

Ordering a somewhat expensive shave head was easy, however for the original to fall apart just outside the 12 month warranty is disappointing to say the least

Top customer service

Had a torx set and when trying to move a seized small screw in a fuel filter housing, I broke both the T20 bits. Didn't have my receipt, couldn't remember where or when I bought it but contacted customer services to buy replacements who were very patient with me when helping me to pin down what kit I had, once they established what kit I had, promised to send me replacement parts free of charge by post. Special mention to Fran for your help, looking forward to the bits arriving, can't beat that for customer service on what is a fairly cheap item can you? Thank you

Great quality product-update, I accidently cut the screws & spindle a touch to short when fitting, phoned the supplier and they posted out replacements free of charge-great product, great customer care, even if the customer screws up!
