we need just 24 people to donate €50.

we need just 24 people to donate €50.

we need just 24 people to donate €50.

we need just 24 people to donate €50.

we need just 24 people to donate €50.

The initial goal was reached, but Mahmoud gave an update an hour ago because the GoFundMe fees and taxes are €3,000! Please keep donating if you can to help cover those costs fully!

Howdy y'all! I wanted to share this fundraiser with you guys in hopes that we can raise a chunk of the money Mahmoud needs! As in the images I attached above, Mahmoud DID meet his goal of €75,000- unfortunately, there's over €3,000 in fees that cut into the money he desperately needs.

I can't imagine how heartbreaking it must feel to believe you've reached your goal that you need for your family and future, only for that to suddenly be impossible. Right now his fundraiser is €75,882, so he needs at least €2,122 more!

Please keep donating and sharing his gofundme!

My heart breaks whenever I think of the fact that evacuation funds are at the bottom of a very long list of things Palestinians have to deal with once they do actually escape. Then it’s finding somewhere to live, then it’s finding a way to sustain themselves, then it’s dealing with the impossible weight that comes in the wake of surviving a genocide… it’s literally all so beyond our comprehension. I truly, genuinely cannot compute how some people are going through such insurmountable amounts of grief and suffering. Helping Palestinians reach the fundraisers is—literally—the least we can do.

Please please continue donating to and sharing Hani’s fundraiser. This fundraiser has been stalling for months, and what terrifies me about that is the fact that two toddler children’s livelihoods rely on it reaching completion. This family’s main breadwinner, Hani’s dad, passed away in an attack on Al-Shifa hospital. This really is their only possible way to evacuate to safety and be able to affords basics like food and a roof to sleep under. Please keep donating. Please keep sharing. Every day I’m more and more worried for this family.

just THREE donations in the past 30 minutes, at one point this afternoon there were HOURS with no donations. This is absolutely unacceptable, Hani’s family has been trapped in north Gaza for months with little to no nutritious food to feed their growing children—the youngest ones of them just turned 2 years and 3 years old during the occupation.

We have less than €700 left to reach €55,000— which we MUST reach by th end of day tonight in order to be on track to complete the campaign next week.

Please donate whatever you can and enter the tote bag raffle in my pinned!! There is only 40 entries right now, and there are two potential winners.

If you ever encounter a conspiracy person of any type irl, you can act like you've never heard of

  1. their particular conspiracy
  2. online communities

Don't start arguing with them headfirst, or tell them that they're wrong. Make them explain the entire thing to you from the start, and once they have, ask them where has this happened? Whom has it happened to? How do they know these people that have experienced this? Like was that their uncle or a co-worker or who exactly is it that has told them about these things?

And as soon as they mention online forums, just look at them with deeply baffled confusion, and as slowly as possible, ask "so you were told all this by... someone from the internet?" with the exact same cautiously incredulous tone as if they had just said they receive all of their news from a talking dog.

I did this to a man who claimed litter boxes were being used in schools and got him to admit no it wasnt his school, actually it wasnt a school at all and no he had no proof of it ever happening. When he said he heard it on fox news and facebook i just looked at him like 🤨 and he shut up pretty quickly

this is just “people in real life: hey man how’s it going”-ing them. excellent

If you can't find a normie for contrast to highlight how batshit someone is, playing the role of one yourself is fine.

a 7-panel comic in pairs of 2 panels each. panels 1/2: a small yellow person is happy, expressing themselves in shapes, before being told "you're too loud". they stop in surprise, their color fading slightly, the shapes disappearing. panels 3/4: the yellow person is a bit taller now. a bit more faded. they are happily expressing themselves in speech bubbles intentionally left blank, before being told "you're being really annoying". the speech bubbles stop abruptly, fading further in color, with tears in their eyes. panels 5/6: even taller and more faded, now to a greyish orange, they say a single, small text bubble before they are hushed with "haha you're so weird", looking irritated and discouraged. panel 7: a greyed out person, silent, with a bubble saying "you used to be so outgoing what happened" the comic is notably fading into white, as if it happened in the past (because it did. this is an old comic and the rest is a sequel. sorry the old comic never had alt text.)ALT
the gray person slowly looks up, gradually regaining color across 3 panels. they look at their hands. "This is the only way I can exist."ALT
the yellow person is in a box, which they forcibly break with a surprised expression. "I do not fit. I tried." "Whether you find 'your people'" a panel of a set of rainbow people together on one end, a grey person curled up on the other. "or not,"ALT
a panel of a person gaining yellow color towards their center, eyes closed. "I can no longer believe it is a crime to exist as one was made." "Others may find me unpalatable" The yellow person is talking again. Someone interrupts with "shut up". The yellow person fades slightly but continues to speak. "I won't pretend it doesn't still hurt at times. But I'm done apologizing."ALT
"I exist like this," A flower on the left. On the right, a gravestone. "Or I don't." "My desire to exist as I am" A single floating yellow petal. "matters more than the desires of others for me to be who I am not."ALT
The yellow person is holding a glowing yellow flower. Radiating from it is yellow warmth, diluting the darker orange tones of their body. Or it could be lighting. The effect is ambiguous. "And if you need that same permission to exist, I'll give it to you." The author has signed it "prettypinkpansy".ALT

The official sequel to that one post. It got very popular and I thought I would share the "answer" I found to my original "question".

The original comic is about growing up aneurotypical (specifically I have autism and ADHD among other things, e.g. being LGBT) in a world not made for that, and my profound feelings of alienation as a result.

Whether you share those specific problems or not, I am sincerely happy if it resonated with you and humbled that it meant something to so many people.

A popular addition to the post was "you will find your people". I think it is absolutely true that you can and will find people willing to support you and love you for who you are - I have, and their support made much of my growth possible (as well as therapy). I am grateful to the artist that made that addition and think it is important.

But I wanted to make this because to me, it was important to learn the message that you are allowed to exist as yourself, even if you were to never find a single other person who accepts you. You do not need the validation of others. Even if you feel like you were somehow made wrong, or will never fit in with anyone else, you have the right to exist.

Live authentically for yourself, and not for others. Pursue your passions.

It is intentional that the person in the comic never fully regains their color. I will never be the untraumatized child I once was. But that doesn't mean life is not worth living.

I love you, and I hope you try to live as you are.

I don't usually reblog my own stuff much but I keep getting notifications for the old one (it has like 230k notes or something wild like that) and a lot of them are vulnerable kids who seem like they could use this message instead. If my work is going to continue to circulate I'd really love if this became the one that was circulated instead.

edit: NOOO I FORGOT THE SCAR

I think we as a society should bring back brotps. I think we should be weirder about characters being friends the same way people are weird about ships. Make those two characters who interacted once or twice besties. Make it difficult for them to get rid of each other even if they want to. Go nuts

posted this a bit ago on insta but decided to put it here too >:))

Nour reached out to an organizer I’ve been in touch with to help another Palestinian from Gaza, as she needed help with setting this up. I was contacted to find someone who could facilitate this fundraiser. Some organizer friends whose Gaza Thrift project I’ve promoted here before were able to facilitate. @90-ghost has reviewed Nour’s identification documents and corresponded with her too. So, in short: this is a brand new fundraiser that I can vouch for. Please share and contribute if you can. Please feel free to repost to other platforms as well.

killy-deactivated20241228:

Nour has posted this GFM as well. If you see the following post, yes, it’s the same GFM, and yes, it’s verified:

please help nour if you can. she has a big family to take care of so they can survive until the rafah crossing opens again or until things are safe enough in gaza to really rebuild.

I see no red flags here

RIGHT ANSWER

27-moons:

A UN delegation arrived today in northern Gaza.

Scenes of deliberate massive destruction by israrel can be seen as the UN vehicles enter the region.

A cry for help from Gaza

My name is Salem, I am 26 years old. I am married to Hadeel, she is 25 years old, and we have two beautiful children: Laila (5 years old) and Bakr (five months old). We live in the northern part of Gaza.

Laila and Bakr are my heartbeat, the light of my life, and my everything.

The horrific story of the recent war in Gaza

Since the beginning of the last war in Gaza, our home has been completely destroyed, forcing us to be displaced. We had to move more than 10 times to find safety. During this harrowing journey, we faced extreme hunger and malnutrition that almost claimed the lives of me and my children. In addition, we have been exposed to many serious infectious diseases and epidemics.

Before: This is our homeland, our dream, and our promising future.

image

Unbearable hardships

Every day I have to travel long distances just to get water, and stand in lines for hours to get food. My children's mental health deteriorated due to the war, their education was interrupted, and they suffered from catastrophic hunger that almost claimed their lives.

After: This is our house, built with our sweat and effort, and it was completely destroyed.

image

The right to a peaceful life

My children deserve to live a peaceful life free of fear and anxiety. I dream of your help to support my family and escape this genocide. Your help means the world to me and my children.

The cost of arranging travel for an adult outside Gaza currently varies

Between $5,000 and $7,000, and $2,500 for each child, in addition to a cost of living of $500 per month.

How can you help?

Your donations can be a beacon of hope for us. Every dollar can help save my children's lives and give them a chance to live in peace. Your prayers for us to overcome this ordeal and lift the siege are greatly needed

Laila: My beloved, the closest to my heart, and my little one.

Bakr: My child who came during this horrific war.

Donate now and help us get to safety

May God reward you greatly for your generosity.

Background on the Gaza war

The war in Gaza has left hundreds of thousands of victims, destroyed infrastructure, and left many homeless. The humanitarian situation in the region has reached critical levels, with severe shortages of basic necessities such as food, water and health care. Children are the most affected, as they have lost their sense of security, education and normal life.

Your support is our hope

Your donation is the light that can guide us towards a better future. Don't miss the chance to be part of a story that saves a family suffering from unimaginable hardships.

Donate now and make hope possible

Thank you for your support and kindness.

My gratitude

Save a Gazan journalist's life.

I won't keep you long. Here are the facts:

  • Siraj Abudayeh @siraj2024 is a Gazan journalist and a father of three.
  • He and his family have been displaced 7 times.
  • They have survived multiple recent massacres in Khan Yunis.
  • They live in a tent that feels like a "convection oven".
  • He can hear tank fire across the street.
  • His parents and siblings escaped Deir al-Balah and are now homeless; he has to care for them too.
  • He needs to raise $5,000 CAD / $3653 USD by the end of the day.
  • He's probably gotten a hundred thousand notes on his posts at this point.
  • This has been meaningless. His campaign moves at a glacial pace.
  • The Palestinian genocide is the fault of the US, UK, Israel, and the imperial core in general.
  • When we in the imperial core do not donate to people like him, we perpetuate the genocide.

I really am going to lose my mind siraj needs these funds by THE END OF THE DAY and we havent even made a DENT. We have given all possible information, we have explained you the urgency, we have told you what danger siraj is in i dont know what it will take to break people out of their apathy. I dont know how many different ways we can package this till you begin to take his situation seriously. I really dont know what to do at this point? Is this his punishment for being an arab man who wants to protect his children's privacy?????? For not showing off their photos like theyre showponies to get sympathy from an audience that has long since gotten desenitised to their pain??????? Is this your "compassion fatigue" showing??????????? cause i can tell you now you have no right to throw that term around when the governments of the countries we live in have aided and abetted in creating the situation we are seeing in gaza today. Fucking donate im terrified out of my mind for siraj and i dont know what will happen if he doesnt get the funds in time

Since this post was made we were notified by some people that they are unable to donate to siraj's gfm because gfms run by organizers based in canada, as is the case here, do not accept donations from paypal.

If you want to donate to siraj's gfm with paypal or are having any trouble in doing so with general cards, please direct your donations to @malcriada who is a trusted friend of siraj. you can get in touch w them via dms so they can donate in your stead, they will send a screenshot of the donation made to you as proof.

The saddest thing about this though has been that we had still been holding out the hope that maybe this had been the obstacle that had been preventing people from donating, but it seems that wasnt the case.

Apart from the fact that it seems lately we are hitting the limit of people's compassion on here, people genuinely are not receptive to siraj's gfm like the others and it is likely for all the reasons i talked about before.

This has come at the worst time, when siraj has come to a point where he has had to use up most of the funds he's raised so far already for daily expenses, especially with the sudden increase in the number of people he is taking care of since his parents and siblings got displaced due to the latest attack by the iof. He did not have enough money for another tent to accomodate them at the time and had to sleep outside so they could get shelter instead.

His children are still sick, and with more people to look after, expenses have increased even more.

He needs 45K BY TOMORROW and 50K WITHIN THIS WEEK

Right now we are only at $43,908 CAD / $45,000

Let me once again remind you that this isnt charity. This is reparations.

We are nearing october, meaning nearly 1 whole year of genocide. You CANNOT afford to give into apathy and normalize this. If anything, it should MOBILIZE YOU to extend any support you can.

Ignore the amount of notes this has. Siraj is still nowhere near the goal. Share and donate as much as you can, and follow siraj's blog @/siraj2024 for his daily updates.
