not defending cheating just explaining why it carries less moral weight in the west.

cheating only has the weight society assigns to it. its not comparable to something like slavery which is inherently violent and wrong regardless of culture.

the “harm” of cheating (honor trust emotional pain) depends heavily on social norms and how relationships are framed. in more individualistic societies its treated as a private issue.

thats why in the west its been relativized as a personal failure while in east and southeast asia its still tied to honor and collective shame.

the ballon dor has never been about merit its about narrative and politics. vini is probably the most hated player in europe he only wins it if he pulls off a messi 2012 level season.

posted 2 days ago

what are you talking about? this isnt a “narrative” its a fact. lev with neon is simply stronger than lev with pxs.

you can acknowledge that 100t have improved, have strong mechanical players and a good read on the meta without pretending lev werent weaker in that series. both things can be true at the same time

my biggest criticism of xenom has always been his clutching. he never gave any confidence in clutch situations.

almost everything we know about ancient persia comes from greek authors. to show how problematic that is it’d be like trying to understand the soviet union only through texts written by anticommunist americans during the cold war.

and thats just a small example of how distorted historical narratives can be, depending on who is telling the story and what interests they had at the time.

“Do you really believe this?” the listener asked.

“Yes, its a pattern” the scientist said. “Peoples that never met each other talked about the same thing. Mayans, Egyptians, Sumerians. All of them described a unstoppable hurricane in a specific year. A fast disaster. Devastating. Something that goes through everything and leaves no answers.”

He keeps talking.

“Each civilization used a different calendar. Different math. And even then, they all reached the same result.”

(silence)

“What result?” the listener asked.

“2026.”

“And the name?”

“It was the same in every language.”

The scientist stays quiet for a second, like he didnt want to say it.

“Aspas.”

if the question was about the team, i would have talked about the team. but it was about why loud is so disliked in Brasil and that does not come from the players

posted 1 week ago

mostly bad management + an unbearable fanbase. loud easily has the worst fanbase in Brasil.

what exactly did he write? how did he get so many upvotes being such a sick person?

posted 1 week ago

this must have taken a lot of work i agree with most of what you said.

a lot of people look at recent results in a very linear way and ignore context. stage 1 and kickoff were heavily affected by bad luck and bad decisions. if they win that sen game at kickoff everything changes and in stage 1 they could easily be 5-0 instead of 0-5. stage 2 was also clearly impacted by the forced switch to english comms.

that doesnt erase other issues like bad coaching decisions, internal chaos, weak management etc. but because its multifactorial i think its exaggerated to treat loud like a dead team. with more time stable comms and a less hostile meta for some players its not crazy to expect a competitive team maybe not a title contender but far from the disaster people make it out to be.

stepping away from the joke for a bit i think there is a lot of truth in the phrase “no one has enemies”

not in the sense that bad people dont exist. they do. but in the sense that choosing not to have enemies is, first and foremost, a way of protecting yourself

having an enemy costs energy. you carry that person in your head all the time even when theyve already moved on with their life

i think thats why we sometimes see people forgive the person who killed someone close to them. not because the killer deserves forgiveness but because continuing to hate would be a second sentence, this time self imposed

guess you found out the truth

The room was silent

Last round playing on the screen

Boaster had his back to the monitor spinning on the chair.

Chronicle paused the video

"Here. Two guys with their backs turned. Why didnt you kill?"

Boaster answered instantly

"Because I didnt see enemies"

Silence

"What do you mean?" Chronicle said

"There are no enemies"

Chronicle pointed at the screen

"They are LITERALLY enemies"

"Theyre professionals temporarily on the other side of the map"

Chronicle took a breath and rewound

"Here look at this. You catch the guy with knife out. He looks at you. You look at him. You just stand there for like two seconds"

"It was a beautiful moment"

"HE KILLED YOU RIGHT AFTER"

"He needed that kill more than I did"

Chronicle slammed the desk

"WE needed that kill"

Silence

Boaster slowly turned the chair

"Chron do you know why I prefer dancing instead of killing?"

"What the fuck are you talking about!?"

Boaster stood up serious as hell

"Because killing assumes an enemy. And an enemy is someone I need to dehumanize"

He waved his hand randomly

"When I dance I dont dehumanize anyone. I move with the world not against it"

Chronicle blinked

Boaster kept going

"We grow up thinking winning means eliminating the other being better than the other. But what if winning is something else"

He pointed at the screen

"That guy wasnt my enemy. He was just like me. Trapped in the same system pressing buttons to justify his own existence"

He paused

"Why keep going in this endless cycle of death and conflict Chron. We have no enemies. No one does"

Absolute silence

One second
Two

Chronicle grabbed his bag

"Fuck you"

He left the room

i kinda stole this idea from this video

india becoming a giant is almost inevitable given the fundamentals. infrastructure is weak now yes but that was also true for china in the 90s

it is almost expected that india will surpass germany in the next few years

posted 3 weeks ago

i agree that china is very different from japan and korea but we are not comparing the model we are comparing the structural outcome over time. costs rise the population ages and the cheap labor advantage disappears, so far no high income country has escaped this

every economy that reached high income went through aging higher costs and slower growth, the us australia and some european countries only delay this through immigration, they do not cancel it.

posted 3 weeks ago

i uninstalled twitter 15 days ago and it was the best thing ive done.

you only realize how much that platform drags you into the abyss once you step away. the algorithm feels like it exists solely to keep you trapped in that shit no matter the cost.

posted 3 weeks ago

this simply doesnt make sense. russian culture is infinitely closer to european culture than to chinese culture.

posted 3 weeks ago

exactly japan is a good example it had its miracle then reached western-level development and growth slowed down.

its mostly structural aging population high costs etc

posted 3 weeks ago

this is a pretty natural process europe is likely to stagnate, the us will probably grow more slowly and the economic center of gravity shifts toward asia.

right now its china, next is india then indonesia and others this is a chain effect driven by demographics industrialization and economic catch-up.

once asia reaches western-level income productivity and aging, growth slows down and the focus moves to regions like latin america and africa.

yeah, sure. aspas was just stat padding while all his teammates were secretly carrying. pure coincidence that the team got dramatically worse after he left, and that the best results always came when he was there. also a pure coincidence that the data shows he has one of the highest fks, the highest kpr, and one of the highest impact kill ratios.

clearly enazgg is right, aspas is completely overrated.

and please, stop upvoting yourself.

posted 3 weeks ago

its because aspas is more consistent, has a much higher peak, and passes the eye test.

before you say chronicle is more consistent: aspas was the undisputed best player on his team in 10 out of the 14 franchise tournaments he played, while chronicle was only in 2.
