A Pound of Flesh by Radical Face

I (18F) recently found out that my secondary school bully Ferret (18M) is my second cousin, we were unaware of our relation for 17 years thanks to a family feud. Ferret and his father were both Death Eaters and after the Battle of Hogwarts, Ferret ran away from his parents, claiming he changed his ways.

After leaving his home, Ferret contacted our great uncle Al (70M) for help. Al lives with my grandparents and they agreed to let Ferret stay with them because my grandparents’ house is huge. I don’t think Ferret expected to be staying at the same house where I currently live. Ever since he got here Ferret has been trying to apologize for his behavior but I’m not interested in having him in my life at all. If it was up to me he wouldn’t even be here and I have told him that he’s not welcome here. I outright told him to get out of my grandparents house and to go back to his father. After that he started avoiding me and staying in his room near constantly.

My oldest first cousin D (16M) told me that I’m being a jerk to Ferret, but D went to a different school and never met Ferret before. Al has noticed Ferret’s weird behavior and is worried about him. Al outright blamed me when Ferret tried to remove his dark mark with his knife. Like him trying to fix one bad decision with a different bad decision was somehow my fault.

My adopted brother H (17M) thinks we should forgive Ferret because he saved our lives once. My fiancé R (18M) initially agreed with me but has started agreeing more with H since learning that Ferret is trying to apologize.

So honestly am I the arsehole for wanting Ferret and his apologies to go to hell?
