i am glad sega is a company that does more for lgbt than just edit their logo with a rainbow. like they donate and raise money for charities and organizations and such. But i hate how so many people get all surprised when they do this like EVERY YEAR!!!!!! this is not new and it will never be new, theyve always supported the gays ever since gay marriage became legal!!!! and sonic fans i dont understand how you can be homophobic. like. how??? the main character HATES oppression, and his whole shtick is like “oh be free!! do whatever you want in life, cuz life is short!”. its just so annoying. and sometimes i can understand some little kid that is homophobic because they just dont get things yet but an adult??? an full grown adult that does their taxes is upset about a blue hedgehog with a rainbow flag????? ough. its so annoying. also like recently i got a comment a post where i put that funny gay rights rainbow shadow meme and it was sayingb like “shadow would be homophobic/transphobic hes so edgy” and ermmm WRONG! 🤓☝️ i think i said this here before. if i did, then my deepest apologies. sonic tumblr has always been pretty lgbt-friendly in my experience but honestly it felt like the exception to the rule even as recently as like 2017-2018. Homophobic and transphobic sonic fans used to be soooo common and it sucked being a queer person in the fanbase so now when I see them pop up today it’s like hello?? 🤨 didn’t you die???
Sonic can/will sleep in strange places, including high-up (seemingly precarious) spots, in the middle of the grass, and on hard surfaces. According to Tails he likes to nap in these strange spots, and Sonic himself seems to like napping in the grass.
In the games (also shown in Sonic the Hedgehog the Movie, 1996) he has a common pose of propping his head up with a hand, the other hand being free or on the ground, and one knee up. In Sonic X (also shown in Sonic IDW) his common pose is leaning against something with his arms behind his head, and one knee up, specifically over the other leg.
Sonic also sleeps in normal areas, such as outdoor lounge chairs (seen in Sonic Adventure and Sonic Boom), Couches (seen in Sonic and the Secret Rings and Sonic IDW), and has a hammock instead of a bed in his home in Sonic Boom. In both Archie Sonic and the Sonic Cinematic Universe he has a racecar bed.

Sonic tends to sleep out in the open or in a high place when napping like this, when hedgehogs (even domesticated ones) will sleep in a burrow, den, or some kind of covered area such as hedges and underbrush. Hedgehogs also tend to sleep curled up to protect themselves in their sleep. Even when domesticated hedgehogs are comfortable around you they will still curl up to sleep.
However, Hedgehogs won’t usually sleep in the same place every night and aren’t incredibly territorial when it comes to this, and Sonic himself travels stopping to rest when he’s tired. As well as hedgehogs are nocturnal and can sleep between 12 to 14 hours per day, hoglets sleeping to 18 hours a day. Hedgehogs are also typically quiet and motionless sleepers, although they can squeak from dreaming every now and again.
