Originally from Northern Quebec, Sumatra has long called Montreal home, immersing himself in the city’s underground rave culture. Active in music since 2012, he spent years experimenting and producing in the shadows before deciding to release his early work and commit fully to his craft. Deeply invested in Montreal’s hard techno scene, his sound channels raw energy, relentless rhythms, and industrial intensity. Sumatra is both shaped by and shaping the city’s rave culture, driven by a passion for uncompromising techno and the community that surrounds it.
