Broken things can carry connotations beyond the practicalities. People with scars or badly-healed bones may seem threatening - or they may be glorified as fearless warriors. A civilisation that favours throwaway or single use culture may develop a disdain for any signs of wear and tear. Perhaps a society demonstrates care to objects as well as for people. What happens regarding breakage in your world?
