just a little informative journal on the 3 universes my characters reside (no travel in-between)
James' universe- from the ongoing story "bloodied spectre" James' 'verse is exactly like our own, only furry, and spirits exist, albiet rare
Mike's universe- while Mike has yet to get a story, his universe is drastically different from ours, magic influenced tech advancement COMPLETELY away from ranged weaponry, and several open portals to Hell (only confirmed supernatural) has further stunted tech growth, due to an ongoing centuries-old war with Hell and the living world. it is assumed Heaven lost that war ages ago and was eaither annihilated, or fully pulled out.
Kilø & Fyra's shared universe- (NOTE: there are NO plans for them to actually meet. though you may see shared locations, aquantences, and even the other passing by)
this 'verse is complicated to explain... firstly, Magic and Technology both advanced together, so all tech from our world (even guns) exists, guns however are used as a ranged attack, magi can cast protective wards (enchanted warding amulets exist, but are expensive. easier to hire a mage) these decrease (or even negate) certain damage, making guns LESS useful (but still effective) melee weapons (i'll use swords as an example) consist of a dull carbon-nanotube "blade" with a reactor (combonation of tech and magic) in the handle that projects an "edge" on the blade. as such it's common to see a fighter dual-weilding a hangdun and melee weapon. herms also exist so prevelently in-universe that they have their own bathrooms, which have support bars in the stalls, reinforced appliances, and drains in the floor (working off the common in-'verse steriotype that herms have a super-high uncontrolable libido (polititions basically say "we can't prevent it, so let's make it safe"). though the reinforced appliances make it great for a fight) almost all supernatural exist, the public knows about them, but unless you ARE a supernatural, or studied up on them a LOT (I.E. college professors, supernatural workers [hunters, census workers, et cetera) the basically don't know anything about them. Time-Travel also is possible, but more or less useless, as anything you do in the past you already did in the past. so it's literally never used (not to mention overly complicated to do) Kilø's story has one traveler that dresses like The Doctor just to fuck with people. Magi are used (combatitively) for ward spells and healing. their offensive magic had WAY too much collateral damage to use against non-supernatural, which are much more resiliant to it. on a normal person it's just overkill. like blowing up your house because the dishes were dirty. (I.E. a fireball spell would incinerate the house, and everyone in it [assuming no magical protection/resiliance]) of course, that makes magic REALLY HARD for non-supernatural and just hard for the supernaturals. most people can't cast a single spell. the talented even only know 1 or 2. even the combat magi only know maybe 5. (ward, heal, move, cut, and eaither a fire, wind, water, ice, or earth spell.) and that's the talented ones. supernatural magi tend to know 5 or 6 normally, and up to 10-12 for the talented. Humans exist alongside furs in this 'verse, seen as just another species. nothing special. fur covers most "naughty" parts, avian and reptile/amphibian species don't have boobs, so non-human clothing law only requires lower-body wear (pants skirts) and the base of the tail covered (often done by the pants/whatnot, otherwise a cloth strip wrapped around or decorative ring does the job.)
ALL UNIVERSES: fur species is more like race, or breed, so any couple can produce children, hybrid species arn't terribly common (most of the time child's species is exclusively one of the two parents') a hybrid will typically produce only one of his two species (IE Fox/Wolf with a Fox will only produce Fox, Wolf, and rarely Fox/wolf. fox/wolf and cat will produce only fox, wolf, cat, or rarely fox/cat or wolf/cat [so no triple+ hybrids like fox/wolf/cat])
so there... all the info i can think of for each 'verse, ANY AND ALL questions about respective 'verses WILL be answered by me (assuming no spoilers) just comment below with the 'verse and your question and i'll gladly answer as best i can.
