The group 
Blood-Donor-Furs was created to bring attention to donating blood and the red cross.
There is a blood shortage right now and it's really affecting hospitals and those who need blood transfusions for whatever reason.
All you have to do to join is click +watch, shout where you hail from, and add our icon to your user page.SOME FACTS ABOUT THE RED CROSS AND DONATING BLOOD:
♥ Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood.
♥ More than 44,000 blood donations are needed every day.
♥ A total of 30 million blood components are transfused each year in the U.S. (2006).
♥ The average red blood cell transfusion is approximately 3 pints.
♥ The blood type most often requested by hospitals is Type O.
♥ The blood used in an emergency is already on the shelves before the event occurs.
♥ Sickle cell disease affects more than 80,000 people in the U.S., 98 percent of whom are African American. Sickle cell patients can require frequent blood transfusions throughout their lives.
♥ More than 1 million new people are diagnosed with cancer each year. Many of them will need blood, sometimes daily, during their chemotherapy treatment.
♥ A single car accident victim can require as many as 100 pints of blood.
♥ The number of patients who receive blood in the U.S. in a year: 5 million (2006).
♥ Share of the U.S. population eligible to give blood: Less than 38 percent.
♥ Blood cannot be manufactured – it can only come from generous donors.
♥ Type O-negative blood (red cells) can be transfused to patients of all blood types. It is always in great demand and often in short supply.
♥ Type AB-positive plasma can be transfused to patients of all other blood types. AB plasma is also usually in short supply.

✚ Runs this ship ✚ ✚ So here is the thing. I plan on making this group very active. I haven't done a terribly great job because of things.
so I think a good way to increase activity in this group is by holding a design contest.
So this is how it's gonna go. You are going to come up with a character that will best represent this group. Then we will all vote for our favorite.
The prize is that you get the VERY FIRST shirt of this group with your design on it for free. Which is pretty awesome cause by my calculations the shirts will cost between 20-28$. (It's a nice quality shirt.) ✚
SO RULES:
1. Nothing sexual please. Keep it G-PG. Thank you.
2. Please keep the theme to the Red Cross and Blood.
3. You can have multiple entries.
4. Be as creative and original as you possibly can! That is the best part of this contest!
