"Robust Design Capabilities with Easy Learning Curve"
What do you like best about AutoCAD LT?

I like the ease of use of the menu in AutoCAD LT, making it simple to transition from old to new versions. The dimension feature is easy to use for creating designs quickly. I appreciate that it's straightforward enough that I can teach others to use it easily and quickly create auto design. The capability for three-dimensional dimensions with consideration of length, longitude, and latitude values, as well as map calculations, are particularly valuable features. What do you dislike about AutoCAD LT?

I'm not converting GPS device file to the old version, but in the new version, it automatically converted. But the older version is not activated, so I have to purchase a new one after 2024. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Excellent for Plant Layouts and Multi-Layer 2D Drawings"
What do you like best about AutoCAD LT?

It is useful for plant layouts and 2D drawings that require multiple layers. It is intuitive and easy to use and learn. Hot-keys help make for a more efficient work-flow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AutoCAD LT?

I mainly use it for plant layouts, so I don't have a lot of negative things to say about it. It works well for my uses, and I do not have issues with lag or anything. For my department it would be nice to have a standard layout for the toolbars that could be saved and carried over when moving to upgraded versions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Why I Use AutoCAD LT in my Interior Design Projects"
What do you like best about AutoCAD LT?

What I like best about AutoCAD LT is its precision and reliability for producing 2D drawings and technical documentation. As an interior designer, I rely on it for creating accurate floor plans, elevations, and layout drawings that are easy to read and ready for construction. The interface is streamlined compared to full AutoCAD, which helps me stay focused on drafting without the distraction of features I don’t often use. It's also highly compatible with industry standards, making collaboration with architects, engineers, and contractors smooth and efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AutoCAD LT?

What I dislike about AutoCAD LT is the lack of support for dynamic blocks, which limits flexibility and efficiency in my workflow. As an interior designer, I often use standard elements like furniture, fixtures, and cabinetry that need to be adjusted for size, orientation, or configuration. In full AutoCAD, dynamic blocks allow for quick, parametric changes without redrawing each variation, but LT doesn’t support them. This means more manual editing, more duplicate blocks, and more time spent on tasks that could be automated, especially on larger or repeat projects. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Took Me a While to Get Used to It, but Now I Can't Really Work Without It"
What do you like best about AutoCAD LT?

What I probably like most about AutoCAD LT is how, once you get past that steep "what-is-all-this" phase, it actually becomes a pretty solid everyday tool. I wouldn’t say it’s fun exactly, but there’s something satisfying about getting a drawing just right—clean lines, everything aligned, no weird little errors.

I do a lot of 2D layouts and simple plans, and I don’t really need all the extra stuff from the full version of AutoCAD, so LT hits a nice balance for me. It’s not trying to be fancy—it just works, in a straightforward kind of way.

Also, once I got the hang of using keyboard shortcuts (and remembered to save… often), it felt way less clunky. Now it’s just part of my routine, and weirdly enough, I miss it when I have to use something else. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AutoCAD LT?

Honestly, the thing that bugs me the most about AutoCAD LT is how it can feel a bit... stuck in the past sometimes. Like, the interface isn’t the friendliest, and it takes a while to find even basic stuff unless you know exactly where to look. I’ve had moments where I just wanted to do a quick edit, but ended up digging through menus for way too long.

Also, the lack of some features compared to the full AutoCAD can be frustrating, especially when you hit a limit and realize you have to find a workaround or do things manually. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it does slow me down sometimes, and honestly, that’s annoying when you’re on a tight deadline.

Oh, and updates—they can be a bit unpredictable. Sometimes they fix one thing but mess up something else, or they shuffle around buttons I was totally used to. It’s like having to relearn small parts all over again, which is definitely not fun.

Still, despite these headaches, I keep coming back because it does what I really need it to do... but yeah, it could definitely feel smoother. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Active user of AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT for more than 30 years."
What do you like best about AutoCAD LT?

AutoCAD has remained the accepted go-to CAD program in our industry since inception. Program updates are regular and are easy to deploy and get accustomed to without too much down time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AutoCAD LT?

Using AutoCAD LT for 2-D work is all I do. In the design of equipment it seams like other 3D CAD programs are used more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
