One of my all-time favorite Sandra Bullock movies is The Lake House and I had that movie in mind when I started reading this, so it was fairly predictable once I had that concept in my mind. Despite that, I still gave it 4 stars because this was still enjoyable. I loved Clementine's relationship with her Aunt, and how that catapulted her into her destiny. ...more

I'm just not a fan of the whole thruple idea for these characters. I really did enjoy each character though. Beck kind of drove me nuts, until towards the end, then my heart broke for him. I could live in this Brair World forever, and am completely STOKED that Blake is getting a book! ...more

I was not a big fan of Not In Love because I felt that the smut was so out of place, that it took up the entire storyline. This actually ended up being ok, not completely off putting. Ali’s heroine’s also have a lot of self doubt and obliviousness to them when it comes to relationships. With Vandy, I understood that her background really contributed to this, making it tolerable for me.
I. Loved. Lukas. Damn. He was all in with Vandy, I mean Scarlett’s, from the get go. I really enjoyed all the psychology behind this storyline too. And the diving!!!
All in all, this was a win, but a little left from what Ali normally puts out.
Update: It’s been 2 days since finishing this and I keep going back to these two. I needed a longer epilogue or just more time of them being an actual couple. ...more

It's been so long since I've read a good YA. Sometimes you just need a mood booster, and this one fit the bill. I am not afraid of having an imperfect heroine, in fact, I expect it in a true YA. My heart hurt for Liz, how in the world did her father not see what was going on with her? I loved how Wes was the only one who saw Liz for who she truly was. I could definitely stop here, but I've got to read the next one even though I know the main premise.
Also, if you are a rom-com buff, you HAVE to read this. I loved how each chapter opened with a quote from all of my favorite rom coms from the 90's and early 2000's. ...more

First off, this has some of the funniest dialogue I've read in a long time. This is Unhoneymooners meets Crazy Rich Asians. Unhoneymooners is the book I recommend the most. It's funny, it's easy, it's set in a tropical setting, so it's great for a beach read, it's a slam dunk. I will be adding The Paradise Problem to that 'highly recommend beach read' list because this was just fun, but it had a great undertone that kept the storyline moving forward.
At first, I didn't know what to think of Anna when we first meet her, but as the story develops and Liam's family dynamic because more chaotic, I love how she blossoms and really becomes Liam's sounding board.
If you have a beach trip coming up this summer, definitely put The Paradise Problem on your list. You won't regret it. ...more

So this was good. I adored how Lucky and Felix first met and how over the years they came back together time and time again. They were magnetic. Destined. Star Crossed. I was addicted.
Besides falling in love with this couple, I loved how much Anne of Green Gables references there were. AOGG was the book that made me fall in love with reading and any reference made my heart sore.
This has been my favorite book by Carley so far. I will most definitely give her another try with future publications. But I have a feeling I will only read her in the summer as her books breathe the essence of summertime....more

I was disappointed when I saw 3 star reviews coming out on one of my favorite author’s books, but now I can see why. This isn’t typical Ali Hazelwood. It definitely had the typical ‘STEM’ characters and background but this one was a lot more smutty. IDK, it just didn’t fit, or at least it wasn’t what I expected, and that just threw me. And then that became the basis of the story instead of what was actually going on with the research and etc. it wasn’t bad, but it probably was my least favorite Hazelwood book. ...more

Emily Henry has been hit or miss with me. I adored Booklovers, but the other 2 I read were just ok and forgettable. That is not how I would describe Funny Story! This was HILARIOUS! I loved the plot, I loved how both these characters evolved. I loved the community that Miles opened up to Daphne. I LOVED IT ALL. This is a great summer read if you are hitting the beach, but it also has great depth. This will definitely be a re-read. ...more
I remember reading Beach Read and thinking, ok that was ok, not the hype I thought it wouI have a confession to make.
I almost wrote off Emily Henry.
I remember reading Beach Read and thinking, ok that was ok, not the hype I thought it would be, but still ok. Then I read People You Meet On Vacation and it just fell really flat for me. So much so that I was consider not picking up another book by her. But then came Book Lovers. Loved it. Then Funny Story. Also loved it. And now here we are, Happy Place. And again, I fucking loved it.
This one was a little bit grittier though. If you were like me and read the blurb, you probably also thought, oh that sounds cute. It’s probably a funny rom-com. And it did start off that way but then we started to peel back all the layers of hurt and insecurities between these two and it was heartbreaking.
I loved the friend dynamic and the reality that things change as we grow but how the core of what we have can stay the same. Wyn and Harriett deserved happiness, both together and separately. They both battled through so many insecurities that they both couldn’t allow their own happy place.
I appreciated Emily’s author notes at the end; being afraid to need, not wanting to burden others or being scared that we aren’t enough. It’s very validating to hear that. We all have feelings of insecurities with the various relationship styles that we have in our lives.
This one surprised me. It kept me on edge. It wasn’t a cookie cutter love story. But it was fantastic....more

I really enjoyed Shane and Diana’s story. Their relationship reminded me of Dean and Ali, just a lot of arguing and great banter. But when these two became friends with benefits!?!? Boom goes the dynamite. Their story is hot and fun with the cutest little quirks, but they just fit so well together. They truly became friends. But I loved how Elle gave them some very serious undertones for them to work through and support each other through. It really grew their relationship.
I’m going to be honest, I’m a little scared to go into The Charlie Method. I have a favorite, and I don’t know if we have to pick sides, but Will is an absolute sweetheart and I’m hoping he gets his HEA. ...more

Only a few handful of authors can get me to try a totally different genre that's totally out of my wheelhouse and Ali is definitely one of them. Honestly, this was awesome. I LOVED Misery! Original Review:
To say that I've been in a reading slump would be the understatement of the decade. I'm used to cranking out 5-6 books a WEEK and I haven't been able to squeak out 5 this YEAR. It's been rough guys. So I knew that if I wanted to try to saddle back up I'd need to rely on a tried-and-true author. Enter, Ms Elle Kennedy. She never fails me. What I adore most about her books is that you never want the series to end. The Off Campus series is one of my favorites of all times, and Briar U was a solid following. But to get a 2nd gen out of these incomparable series? Sold.
I ADORED their meet cute! I loved that they came back around years later and put them in a unique situation for their stars to align. Soon I found myself wanting to dig deeper into these two, to see them come together more than friends. But more than that, I NEEDED to know Ryder's backstory. Elle does heartache like no else. Seeing the Eastwood and Brair teams become one, and backing up Ryder was PERFECTION. I was not prepared for how these two would end! Such a perfect way to wrap up for these two.
You will not be disappointed in how much we get of Garrett and Hannah Graham! Elle, we SERIOUSLY need a Wyatt story. Like, now. I can't wait to read more from this generation and let's hope Elle will keep up with our favorite characters as well....more

I adore everything Ali Hazelwood so of course I had to give this a try. I would say that this isn't Ali's signature as her main characters are chess players (a subject I know squat about), but I quickly recognized Ali's quirky characters and original dialogue. I love imperfect characters and Mallory fits the bill. Mallory's backstory that leads to her taking on so much responsibility with her family tug on my heartstrings. But watching Nolan fall in love with her immediately was all the feels! This didn't have as much angst as I typically get from Ali, but it's still adorable. ...more
