I wanted to like this book. I really did. I gave it a good 145 pages before I had to call it quits. Picoult is one of my favorite authors and most of I wanted to like this book. I really did. I gave it a good 145 pages before I had to call it quits. Picoult is one of my favorite authors and most of her books I give 5 five star ratings to. This one however, bored the living daylights out of me. I’m not a big fan of early poetry and Shakespeare is not my thing. Sorry, this one was not for me. She exemplified remarkable strength, yet her suffering seemed to accompany her throughout her life. I believe this is a common phenomenon for individuals who lose a parent during their formative years. Additionally, the fact that her daughter completed this book as a tribute to her mother enhanced its significance for me. It strikingly conveys honesty and candor, positioning itself among the finest celebrity autobiographies I have encountered. I encourage readers to approach this book with an open mind....more

But in the big scheme of things I found it repetitive and long winded. What she wrote in this long book could have been said in half the time. I found myself getting bored and actually skimming and skipping over pages and pages until I reconnected with a subject that was of interest to me. Just didn’t keep my interest. ...more
