There are a couple of similarly-themed series; don't know if you're aware of them. Eric Flint has a series starting with 1632; I'm working my way through it. And then there's a series I liked for the first couple of books, from S. M. Stirling, Island in the Sea of Time.

Thanks, yes I have the first two Eric Flints on my TBR somewhere, LOL. I have not read Flint or Stirling, are they both very military in nature?
