A entire Union Army boards a boat and the next thing they know they end of on the shores of another world filled with barbaric hoards and such. Here they eke out a place for themselves and soon become embroiled in a defending one group against the another stronger tribe.
Some interesting moments and battles.

CatBookMom There are a couple of similarly-themed series; don't know if you're aware of them. Eric Flint has a series starting with 1632; I'm working my way through it. And then there's a series I liked for the first couple of books, from S. M. Stirling, Island in the Sea of Time.

Frank Thanks, yes I have the first two Eric Flints on my TBR somewhere, LOL. I have not read Flint or Stirling, are they both very military in nature?
