I have a strange and deep love for #23, for some reason.

Wonderful collection. Truly iconic of the age. Each picture speaks volumes.

It was either pictures or me writing those volumes of commentary. I loved the journey into the past and the prose of Doctorw.

I vaguely remember some of these flip books from childhood, but with drawn lines, not with pictures.

All the imges I have selected are of people, places and events from the book. Doctorow surely makes history captivating.

Number 33 Charlie Faust, a no talent baseball pitcher, this player who the manager kept as a good luck charm, the team won, with him on the roster, was a joke, only pitched two games in his career...

That's exactly how he was introduced in the book, when Father takes Young boy to a Giant's Game.
I saw the movie version many years ago. I am trying now to find a copy to re-watch it while the memory of the novel is still fresh.
