bookshelves: sci-fi-fantasy, quit-dnf, netgalley

30% in, and I have no idea what's going on. The narrative is all over the place, the dialogue is clunky, and the story just isn't capturing me. This is a short read, but I'm giving up after two chapters. Thanks to Tor for the NetGalley ARC, but this novella just isn't for me.

Yeah...second book of the year I've quit. And second ARC in a row that I've had to bail on. It's a bummer, all right. :(

Jamie Rich Actually, in my own opinion, you made the right choice. The book never really becomes alive, in any sense.
