It seems I'm in the minority here once again. I've read SO many wonderful reviews from all of my friends and they all mentioned how poetical and emotional this story is. I won't say it isn't, but unfortunately it didn't work for me. I couldn't enjoy it. I forced myself to finish it and it's such a short story (65 pages).
I was extremely disappointed that Lou already knew about her father's wedding. I expected a very emotional revelation and their most expected discussion,Tom coming out to his daughter, wasn't at all what I wanted. It just didn't touch me. Like at all. So I'm going to give it only 2 stars, because it was an OK read.

Sorry this wasn't for you. It's a different book than what we usually read, for sure. I gave it four stars but if it was longer I don't think I would have been able to finish it and still enjoy it as much. I liked it as a short story though.

I don't even want to imagine how it would have been to read a full novel written in this style. So thank God it was short :)
At least I learned this writing style isn't for me ;)

And then it kind of made me feel bad leaving a 2 stars review. Hope my next read will be better. Hugs!
