bookshelves: to-read

A new movie is coming out December 25th...

I've never read it so I might have to do a readalong for it that month!

message 17: by CM (new) - rated it 2 stars

CM so curious to hear your thoughts on this one. I feel like I am the only person who didn't enjoy it.

message 18: by Eithne (new)

Eithne Ness Oh quickly....read it before even thinking of seeing the movie. I have seen a couple of film versions and they can never ever hold a candle to the book. No depth in a movie. Un a book you get to share all the character's thoughts and hope's. I read this as a child . I loved it then and I love it now.

kellybuds I remember when my mom brought this home for me. I felt very important because it was so thick and I was so young lol it's been many years since I've read it, but I remember liking it then and I've always love the 1994 film. I hope you like it. If you do, I may need to re-read also.

kellybuds Liked*

Luísa i’m doing this right now! i love the new cast so much and greta is such an honest filmmaker that i could not resist the reread :) the trailer gave me goosebumps so i chose to read it again but in english (portuguese is my first languafe), also using the 2019’s version visuals that i got from the trailer. its been a lovely and immersive experience

Renee Clare-Kovacs That's why I *finally* read it. Have been trying since 5th grade!

Cheryll I've just seen the movie - so have the book to read now!

Deborah I watched the movie - loved it! Now I just have to read the book
