liked it

This was just okay. In the Garden of Beasts is far superior—the depiction of Martha Dodd, a vivacious and flamboyant figure, was derivative and reductive in this fictionalized version. I liked the perspectives of the three women, and the novel reinforced the fortitude women of that era possessed, but everything else just felt flat to me. It was also VERY long; a 19 hour audiobook should be riveting throughout, but it wasn’t.
