There is something seriously wrong with his writing and the way every character is similar expect for different names!!!

I don't know if you've ever read Dan Brown but he's the same way. All characters are the same just different names, plot exactly the same but just takes place in a different city. It's like he created a template and just fills in a few new details for each book. So frustrating.

Haha my thoughts exactly. I didn’t like Miles or Alaska and the plot (if there was any) was just stupid. His books don’t make sense to me at all.

Can't agree more, as a very early reader I liked his 1 or 2 books(LFA has been one of my favs lol) but as I grew up I just found out that hypocrisy is not the thing I'm a fan of(at least in reading) and is the exact thing green does.

The repeated behavior of books with a small mask of themes is making readers so attracted without realizing that it's the same old raisin they're eating since the fault in our stars.

and his last one(turtles) was nothing but the same crap with some disease or something theme.
It hurts that they just know one thing readers like and giving the theme of that, readers become weak and accept even the same story without knowing because their hearts are already taken.

Ok this is not hate comment but I really liked the book actually but I can see how your points are all very valid which annoys me a little but sometimes I’ve read books where I don’t like the characters morals and things they do or them in general but I still love the book and I found it very entertaining just not my favourite ever book!

I think miles is supposed to be a piece of shit? Like he was supposed to be a purposeful commentary on this kind of teen boy 😭😭granted this book is a more rudimentary rough portrayal of the theme it is done much better in paper towns. Margo’s last or middle name literally means mirror in German

When Alaska is ranting about the objectification of women and literally ten pages before and every page before Miles is just talking about her body, how’s she’s so petite and skinny but somehow is super curvy 😭 so so gross, really made Alaska be a feminist so she’d seem complex and cool but she was so appallingly written

I disagree that they're similar. For example, one is about a girl who runs away from home, one is about a girl with ocd, one is about a girl with cystic fibrosis and a boy with cancer and one is about a girl who commits suicide. The only similarity is that they are all books based for young people who are experiencing similar issues.. like every other young adult book
