This was a relatively short but good book talking about tyrants in the various plays of Shakespeare. Mr. Greenblatt is (justifiably) making many allusions to the current dystopian mess with the orange, tiny-fisted tyrant wannabe in the states, but never calls him out by name, only by inference. The textual analysis is relatively superficial, this is more about characteristics of tyrants and their occurrences in the Bard's plays than a literary criticism. Nonetheless, I found it was an interesting and readable treatise that helped me better appreciate the historical plays: the Henriad and the War of the Roses (Richard II, Henry IV 1-2, Henry V, Henry VI 1-2-3, Richard III).
