Snow Crash

This was a tough read but I stuck with it and finished because I hate to DNF.
I finished it just there and damn, what a drag!
In this one Neal Stephenson writes like he's describing a dream he's had, I'm not into that.
The characters weren't likeable and the story was all over the damn place and never made much sense to me.
Worst book I've read in a long time.
Just not for me.
I'm not giving up on this author though, I'll try Seveneves at some point.
I feel like I need some easy reading now, my brain is like gravy.

I liked the ideas but the execution didn’t work for me. Especially the ending. Felt like a lot of running for nothing.
Seveneves shares nothing in narrative style or voice with this book. Having read both, Seveneves is "hard" science and veers far from this cyberpunk tongue-in-cheek neon vapor of a novel. Looking at your list of favorite books, I think you'll enjoy Seveneves and because I read Seveneves before Snow Crash, I think I had a more forgiving perspective of Neal's writing while reading it. Seveneves convinced me he's a brilliant writer, so it was clear with Snow Crash he was going for something very very very specific. Maybe that allowed me to see through its more lucid points.
