it was amazing
bookshelves: mystery-adventure-thriller, fantasy, middle-grade
Read 2 times. Last read June 28, 2020 to August 25, 2020.

I first read this when it came out in 1978 or ‘79. I loved it. That said, it turns out I had almost no recollection of anything but knowing what the clues are all about.

I read it to my son and he really enjoyed it, but was slightly disappointed by the ending. It is a very subtle and unspectacular finish to an exciting and eventful story. But fitting somehow. I really enjoyed reading it aloud to him.

Kristy You could just say you remember where the clues were from, but not say where; or put spoiler tags. It’s no fun when someone gives away an important part of a book’s plot.

I’ve had a couple books ruined for me today by people giving away far too much, and then admitting it later that it might be a spoiler. Not helpful once the cat is out of the bag.

DivaDiane SM I have since altered my review, since you are right, Kirsty and it doesn’t hurt a thing to fix it.
