If you are a fan of Ann Patchett's writing, you probably have read some or many of her books. Personally, I have read Commonwealth and The Dutch House. They each were striking in their own ways. This collection of Patchett's essays are striking as well - unique to the author, genuine and original.
The essays come together to give a glimpse of what Patchett's life is like. She writes about her childhood, her experiences with writing and being a book seller, her marriage, her friendships and her faith. For those of you who enjoyed Commonwealth, there is an interesting essay about Patchett's own three fathers along with their picture.
She is a prolific and talented author. As long as Patchett keeps writing, I will be reading her books.

Thanks, Patty. As it turns out, I had read two other essays myself that were published earlier. Now I'd like to catch up by reading some of her earlier books.I just saw your review, complete with Sooki's art work. Her paintings are beautiful!

Regina, I just had the chance to watch a video of Ann Patchett and Barbara Kingsolver discussing their friendship and thoughts about writing. Since I had read her book in print, this was the first time I heard her speak. She came accross just like she did in the book - warm, witty and easy to relate to. I'm glad that you loved her book!
