Instant Attraction (Wilder, #1)

She wasn’t watching where they were going, but his face. His mouth. It was a really great mouth. Wide and firm but not too much so. She bet it’d be heaven on hers—
[...]
He looked his usual scruffy, solidly muscled mountain-man self, and gorgeous with it, of course. Not to mention his scent. Good Lord, that scent should be bottled and sold under the name IMPENDING ORGASM.
Okay, this kind of writing and descriptions only 5 chapters into the book when the male and female MCs have only spoken like 3 times...that makes me roll my eyes. I mean, really, I should've known that a book with the actual title "Instant Attraction" was most likely not going to be my thing. Evidently, when I added this 4 years ago, past Cathy did not know this yet.
I figured I should probably tackle some of the books that have been on my to-read shelf the longest, so I picked up this one. I've heard good things about Jill Shalvis, but I'm not sure if this book would have still been on my radar now. I seem to have a bit of a love/hate relationship with contemporary romance these days, yet that doesn't stop me from reading more books and hoping to find one that will sweep me off my feet, so to speak.
This was not that book. It was fine, but altogether not that memorable and I am pretty sure I'll have forgotten the MCs names in about a week's time. The main couple was not my thing, and there are only so many scrapes Katie could get into and I was tired of that happening after, like, the second time. However, I did enjoy the family aspect of it, and then there was the stray cat thing which, well, that will never fail to pull on my heartstrings, so we'll see how the other books in the series go. If my suspicion is correct that TJ will be paired with Harley, then I'm tentatively looking forward to their book. A lot.

Oh, actually. Yana has been reading Jill Shalvis too. Figured you would want to know that! Haha.

Haha, that is good to know! It shows that most people do seem to enjoy her books so I'll have to go look for them.
