You know how this goes, since I've been updating about this book many times.
As I said here, I was gonna take a shot every time January called Sonya "that woman" so I had an excuse to get drunk, right? Well, there were 12 shots. Instead of shots, I drank 12 cans of beer because why not? I needed them so bad. No, I didn't get drunk unfortunately because it would have been really good to read this book in that state.
Anyways, I totally disliked this book. January (once again, seriously, who names a kid like that? If that's the case, then some Latin American names aren't as bad as I thought) was annoying as hell, dumb and not really clever. At all.
I hated Gus Everett. He doesn't do a shit in 150 pages, so why should I stay and discover it in the rest of the book? That doesn't seem fair to me. He's not even an appealing guy, and please, explain me what the hell "His usual five-o'clock shadow had stretched closer toward a seven-o'clock dusk" means? I didn't understand anything of it.
I didn't feel like there was romance in this book, and I wasn't gonna end it up just to discover it. When I tell you that I hated this book... I'm stressed right now. Just to think about it.
The cover HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BOOK, LMAO. I thought there was gonna be a scene on the beach (as far as I read, which was, again, 'til page 150) or something like that... But it wasn't.
The only likable and relatable phrase was:
It was the only thing that I liked.
Let me explain what bothered me the most, what got in my nerves and I still can't get over.
January calling Sonya "that woman". Please, shut the fuck up. Not all women are guilty for a man's decision. PERIOD. AND THAT'S NOT OF YOUR BUSINESS.
Ugh, I just got stressed. AGAIN. For January's fault.
Anyways, this book got me in a huge reading slump, in which Evelyn Hugo is fighting to take me out of.

Haha, yes! Great review, Ale! I didn't understand the love for this book either. January was so precious and constantly freaked out about things that had nothing to do with her lol!

I was so tired of her and the way she was making such a big deal for something that wasn't her business, lmao.
