Austerlitz

Some books are to be remembered. Not the who or why or when type remember but remember that is more like a fog. Sea fog. It wants land and makes the ferry late. It chills you as you watch the vanishing dock. You get through it but don't ever forget. That is W. G. Sebald's Austerlitz. Read it and say after me, I was there.

If you want to quote my writing, Meghna, you must attribute it to me by name - Georgia Scott - to avoid plagiarism. All the best.

Oh no worries, I strictly don't like my poetry being copied, so can't dream of copying anyone else's (it's not about plagiarism but fidelity). I was just appreciating the impactful sentence and your hardwork (maybe went overboard with my appreciation :-D). Keep writing, Georgia! :) <3

And you keep writing, too, Meghna. Your enthusiasm is wonderful.
Dear Georgia, what an evocative review! You thought about fog and in my case, it was a kind of milky light. I think it's amazing that a book can be perceived as something so unusual and unique. I loved this novel and feel happy to discover that it impressed you profoundly too.
I love how you've evoked the atmosphere of this book via your own foggy memory of it, Georgia. Yes indeed, I was there!

Think of all the people who went there before us and will go there after us. What a reminder this is of the power of fine writing!

I am surely gonna use it in my review with your permission, Georgia! :P
