Mia and Will meet on a plane heading to New York. Her father just passed away and she's going there to run his cafe. Will lives there. He's freaked out about flying and she takes him mind off it. They part ways at the airport thinking that's the end of it but luckily, it's not.
One thing leads to another and Will ends up being Mia's roommate but she's quick to enforce the friends only rule much to Will's dismay. Things get a little dicey when Mia starts dating someone else and Will walks in on them. He has to give Mia a taste of her own medicine but what in the hell was up with the horsie ride? That was just weird.
Will and Mia are both musicians and I love their love of music and how much they can relate to each other through it. But Mia's father was also a musician and it caused problems between him and her mother leading them to break up. This is something Mia wants to avoid at all costs. She wants a man with a well paying job and Will is not him.

Mia has a lot of maturing to do...not so much about growing up but learning to live her life. She's stuck - not only with her "planned" partner but with dealing with some hard knocks life has given her already.
After some drama and after a lot of grieving, she womans up and decides to put some things to rest so she can move on. She takes some chances and it pays off but...the biggest thing she has to do is be patient.
I really enjoyed Will and Mia together and the drama was pretty angsty. I did like the way it ended but felt like I needed more happy times. Imagine my surprise in learning that the follow up novella, Sweet Little Thing does just that...and in Will's POV!
