3.5 Stars.

BIG fan of Stephen King, but not so much of CHRISTINE. Reading a 700+ page book....especially one written by SK usually does not bother me in the least, but CHRISTINE was just too long....too wordy....was expecting more wicked deeds than the movie.

The storyline IS creepy good with a possessed red 1958 Plymouth Fury....her deadlights and "moldering stench"....on the prowl seeking justice from anyone who dislikes her....so best stay out of her way.

Besides a feared CHRISTINE, there's a great cast of teen characters, bullies, weird parents and an evil presence from the beyond to keep things rolling along. AND, as in many KING novels, you'll find a variety of dark nightmares, hear many a cool oldie from the 50's and 60's and take a ride to the submarine races. (you're an oldie like me if you remember that one.)

Not a favorite (for me), but NOT bad either.

Am so glad you did Sraah! I didn't like it as much as I thought I would, but am still thinking about it, lol. Perhaps I should have round up. :-)

Zoeytron Good review, Carol! I read this when it was first released, way before GR, but I see our rating is in perfect sync.

Erin Clemence Great Halloween read, Carol. I tend to find some of The Great Stephen King's works a bit wordy and difficult to get through. And then he will blow me away with some of his other novels. Hit or miss...

WHAT?!?!?!?!? You've read like a zillion books and NO STEPHEN KING??? OMG Sue, how can I ever recommend just one? If you want scary-creepy, take a look at IT, PET SEMETARY, THE SHINING, SALEM'S LOT, or Just plain EXCELLENT story, try THE GREEN MILE, 11-22-63. Or please feel free to check out my SK shelf. Can't wait to see what you think. His writing is top shelf! ENJOY!!! :-)

♥ Sandi ❣	An oldie but a goodie - good review.

Deanna This one always freaked me out when I was young (and to be honest still does). The movie really scared the heck out of me!
I imagine the book would do the same.
Great review :)

But, every time I do a Stephen King re-read. From first book to last, I have to include this one!"

I thought the movie better too, but agree with you. Not my fav SK either!
