THIS ATE SO HARD. i cannot tell you why i loved this so much. everything was perfect in my eyes. i was so obsessed with this story, it's definitely the best one yet. i also do not change my opinion of book one. that was still shit and was not needed in the slightest. shoutout to everyone who forced me to start this. idk what to do with myself now that i cannot read this for the first time.

・❥・ tory- she is very clearly the favorite for the two authors lol. it was so very blatant with the way they wrote her. i do think for that reason, she is also my favorite character. we get the most from her during this particularly story. her character is very spontaneous and dynamic and works really well with all the heirs and their clashing personalities. tory is also very entertaining and had the best development from book one and two. i love an outspoken woman and she really delivers on that. of all the characters in this world, tory is the one that is somehow the "center" and works with everyone, if you get what i mean.

・❥・ darcy- my sweet girl. i feel like she is being given the short end of the stick and i have no clue why. let my girl shine please. the way both authors gave her shorter and more chaotic povs, as opposed to tory, told me everything i needed to know. every tory pov was 99% herself with either caleb and his bullshit or darius. with darcy povs, it was always a training situation, fight sequence, or a party scene. now you might ask, why does that matter to me? she was giving me feyre vibes from acotar and acowar. everything was happening around her, not really to her or with her. whereas with tory (i do love her btw) she had all this development with herself, her powers, her love interests etc. darcy sadly was not given any time to shine in that department. due to this, the pacing and tone of her character felt really off. aside from her very brief moments with lance and her weird run ins with seth, she is being done really dirty. i hope this changes moving forward.

・❥・ darius- he was very interesting in this book. the tension he had with tory was insane. he was stressed and bothered the whole time, which i was very clearly eating up. his character really started to become very prominent in this book and brought something to the table. round of applause for this, since his loser friends cannot say the same. he has insane chemistry with lance too?? like girl i have been saying this. if it wasn't tory, i ship this man with orion lmao. like that bond is sus as fuck. also the tattoos, they way he calls tory roxy? and the fact that he is a biker? bye i'm in love with him.

・❥・ lance- sksjdjsjsjsj. listen. is he the most interesting person on planet earth? no. am i obsessed? obviously. this man was reading everybody to FILTH. he is the comedic relief i needed in this book. he is written as this stern and serious professor, but tell me why i was laughing everytime this motherfucker was on my page. he gave no fucks about anyone and lowkey i was living for that. everyone was scared of him which is so funny for no reason. he put everyone in their place and was the only person who knew when to shut up and get serious. the entire school was so needy towards him too. like are there no other professors?? lance judging the rest of the heirs will never not be hilarious. the way he did what he wanted and made sure he got his way was on brand with his character. his relationship/bond with darius read so goofy in his pov scenes. like please i actually need more information on this ASAP. give the people what they want please.

~ caleb- he is the only other semi prominent character outside of the two twins and the two main guys (lance and darius). lord save me, he has NO chemistry with tory. shut it the fuck down. pack it up. hell, he has more chemistry with seth than he does with any woman in this series. they were pushing it, and i was bored. also of the core characters, caleb seems to be the biggest pushover and has no backbone. he likes to goad darius and fuck around with tory.... if you ask me anything else? he has blonde curly hair. next.

~ seth aka (the most needy bitch alive)- i have beef with this hoe... like why is he still here? the way he is still useless lmao. the whole omega bullshit with darcy?? i cannot. everytime he was whimpering/upset and trying to cuddle darius? i was rolling on the floor. goodbye. what was even going on?? that man wanted none of that.

~ max- his powers are really cool but he is the heir who has the least presence in these books. his powers got the characters into arguments though— so i’m interested to see where that will go. i also sense something happening with geraldine in the future.

opinions on the two main ships:

➛ tory/darius- they have chemistry. this is how you do a slow burn well. their tension during the dancing scene where she is drunk, and he takes her to his room. i was yelling. this is what i needed. every-time darius saw her with caleb had me giggling and kicking my feet. also, nobody can convince me that the authors are not heavily biased toward these two. i mean, i get it. i need more. please and thank you.

➛ blue lance- ok i feel so bad. i loved them so much at first, but now they aren't giving me anything. i feel like a lot of it has to do with the fact that they didn't interact nearly as much/or even have many single pov scenes. the second is also how quickly they got together after meeting each other. they didn't have any tension or any banter besides darcy getting jealous of fran and lance getting annoyed with seth and being jealous of diego for .2 seconds. there is so much potential here and i feel like since they are endgame, the authors are pulling an aria/ezra, elena/damon, and blair/chuck. essentially meaning, they are going to get caught, drama, will they/won't they, more drama, jealousy, break up ninety times, the end. unlike tory/darius, these two aren't free to roam around, but at least have them speak to each other and interact.... they deserve better.

i more of this lance in book four, and not the nanny-babysitter, where is he taking care of the entire town.

they need to fuck and get this over with. i cannot anymore.
