This book had a feel that was similar to the book Twilight and the TV show Roswell. In both we have a main character that has the hots for a guy who happens to be a bit of an ass at first and extremely confusing, but somehow finds himself a part of the main characters life, whether he likes it or not. Then you add the supernatural aspect to it and the secretiveness, which is followed by a blooming romance that just can't happen because the main character is human. And... Blah, blah, blah. But I loved it. I was a devoted fan of Roswell and I was extremely disappointed when it was over for good. So this helped fill that alien void I've had since Roswell ended.
There were some downfalls to the book. Dee's weird clingy ness to Katy in the beginning was more creepy than cute, Katy's comebacks were comical and sad at times (I felt semi embarrassed for her), and Daemon's attitude felt a bit overdone in parts. After awhile though those faults fade to the background, you become invested in the story, and everything starts to come together.
When you first meet someone it's usually awkward and you find yourself turned off by the littlest things about them. But the more you are around the person the more those things that turned you off become the very things you love about them. That was my experience with this book. I hope that makes sense to you. If not pick it up, read it, and you'll see what I mean.

"Has a familiarity to other things I've read, but so far it's not too bad. The main character's personality is rather dull, but she's getting better as the story moves along."
