One star for the delusion required to believe that this is worthy of formal publication.
No matter how you feel about the plot or the topics, not enough has been done to make this a book that can stand separately to the context that is assumed by the reader in fanfiction. Swapping out names and putting in a complicated Sanderson-esque metallurgic magic system is not enough if you haven’t also put work into making your characters and their plights compelling. You cannot just throw trauma at a wall and call it character development.

Hi, are you a pre-reader for this book? I would love to know more about what this book deals with? I note that it hasn’t yet been published?

That’s a lot of assumptions about what the new book will be. Maybe wait until it’s published, then read it?
Alchemy has been around for hundreds of years Sanderson did not invent it🙂↔️ clearly you never read the book. Find a better hobby
"Throw trauma at a wall and call it character development..." I love it. Perfectly said. Sensationalizing and then norming rape is also just flat out disgusting.
All these people saying you didn’t read the book. Well I just finished it and you’re just absolutely correct and on point with this review.
I read every word of this book to my dismay but i’m not one to DNF once I commit to reading something and I agree 100% lol
I agree, I read this entire tomb and I felt nothing for the characters or their cause, it's like it's the 5th book of a series without the SeriesThere isn't any plausible reason why the MC would continue on fighting for these so called non-friends who forget about her and allow her to be treated so atrociously when she could just go home with her father
The so-called romance of it all is just one giant abusive trauma bond with an ending that is not justified and boring at the same time
The collective delusion this book causes amongst its fans... I don't think people would defend their own mother with this much fervor. All for a book full of grammatical errors from an author who couldn't think of their own unique idea to publish. JEEZ.
Yes!! THANK YOU. Manacled only worked as HP fanfiction. You cannot separate the story from the source and still expect it to work the same way. This book should never have happened.
As someone who sadly read the book, you hit the nail on the head. She relied too much on the love of HP in the fanfiction to carry this poorly written book to publication. I truly think the only people who liked it read the fan fiction first, and grew a connection to it due to the HP aspect and not the story. There was no reason for me as a reader to care about the characters at all and the author relied on HP in the fanfic to create the reason why you care. It does not translate well to publication.
