Bungie, Inc. is an American video game company and is a subsidiary company of Sony Interactive Entertainment.
Bungie was founded in May 1991 as Bungie Software Products Corporation and their first game is Gnop!. During the development of Halo: Combat Evolved for the Xbox console, Bungie was acquired by Microsoft on June 19, 2000 and became part of the Microsoft Game Division as Bungie Studios, before becoming independent again as Bungie, LLC on October 1, 2007. It was renamed again to the current corporate name Bungie, Inc. in 2012. Bungie was later acquired by Sony Interactive Entertainment in 2022.
