Shuusou Gyoku is a anime vertical-scrolling shooter game in the Seihou series developed by Shunsatsu sare do? and Amusement Makers.
The demo was released at Comiket 58, and the full version at Comiket 59, both in the year 2000.
The game is hard to run on modern systems due the very outdated libraries used. PBG released a partial version of the source code in 2019, and since then, there has been an effort for modernizing the codebase with GIAN07

Essential improvements
Drop in replacement for the original .exe files that improves compatibility with modern hardware and fixes some bugs
- Allows for both integer scaling, 4:3 and streched aspect ratios
- Adds support for music packs that restore the intended soundtrack.[1]
|
Instructions
|
- Download the GIAN07
- Download
sh01.Arranged.soundtrack.Sound.Canvas.VA.zip here.
- Extract it in <path-to-game>/bgm.
Notes
- Below is a more detailed explanation of the various packs. Every pack is a combination of the following properties.
- OGG vs FLAC: FLAC is a lossless compression, but to actually hear a difference, it must be played on a very good audio setup.
- Original vs Arranged: The arranged soundtrack fixes some errors that are in the original MIDI.
- Romantique Tp vs Sound Canvas: It is possible to choose between Romantique Tp's recordings of the OST made with the Roland Sc-88Pro, or recordings made using Sound Canvas VA, a VST plugin that emulates the core of SC-88Pro and removes the imperfections caused by the aging hardware.
