Yakuza Kiwami 2[Note 1] is a singleplayer third-person open world action game developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and published by Sega. It is part of the Yakuza (Like a Dragon) series. It was built on the Dragon Engine, a proprietary engine originally developed for Yakuza 6: The Song of Life.

The game, which was released on PlayStation 4 in 2017, is a remake of Yakuza 2[Note 2], released on PlayStation 2 in 2006. It was ported to PC by QLOC and released on May 9, 2019.

It was delisted on both Microsoft Store and Steam in December 2025, to make way for the newer version of the game on Steam.

Issues unresolved

High FPS issues

Some aspects of the AI seems to be tied to framerate, resulting in fights being harder to complete above 30 FPS. For example, the AI may dodge out of combos that it would not normally be able to above 30 frames.
Certain combos may become harder to perform when running the game above 30 FPS.

Issues fixed

Game crashes at launch

The game's config files can sometimes cause the game to fail to launch
Remove graphics.ini and input.ini[8]
  1. Navigate to the game's configuration folder at %APPDATA%\Sega\YakuzaKiwami
  2. Delete or back up graphics.ini and input.ini

Can't perform some heat actions at high FPS

Running at high FPS makes certain heat actions very difficult to perform. e.g. Tutorial heat action icon doesn't appear, Essence of Seizing heat actions will have an extremely small window to activate
Limit FPS to 60[citation needed]

Set the FPS limit with Settings > Graphics Settings > FPS=60 option

In some instances the heat icon still won't appear. The only way to fix this in all cases is to limit FPS to 30, which is the framerate the game was designed to run at on consoles
If your PC is capable, frame generation can be enabled in your GPU options to improve FPS while still making heat actions easier to perform
