I.T. is a combination of various techniques
for data capture, data storing, data processing, data transmission, information retrieval, and information display. Function of Information Technology
Data capture- collect data from various sources.
Data storage-Data is stored in media for future use. Data transmission-Data is transmitted from 1 place to another. Data Processing-Conversion of data into information. Data Retrieval-Finding out the needed information. Data display-Presenting information to user. Role of Information technology
Efficiency refers to cost/benefit, whereas effectiveness is the
degree to which these objectives are achieved. Efficiency refers to internal operating process, and effectiveness is related to objective achievement which is externally focused. Organisational Transformation
It is changing an object (nature of product or service) in another
form. e.g.-companies use sales history of other companies also. through I.T. cost is reduced of communication and to maintain database. Strategy Formation
Strategy is a way in which an organization reacts to its
environment, deploys its resources and target on its objective. Strategic Alliance Strategic alliance is formed between two organization. Partner join hands but work in there separate offices. Example H.P./HCL, NOKIA / HCL. Common Example
E –governance in Government bodies.
E-Governance
Connect various Government Agencies with each
other in the form of internet/intranet. Increase usage of computers in government bodies. Use local language on computers in there office. Define and implement cyber laws. It is a term used to refer to business applications of
computer technology, rather than scientific applications. The term is used broadly in business to refer to anything that ties into the use of computers.
