Daniela Queiroz
Instagram Marketing

@imdanielaqueiroz

/imdanielaqueiroz
About me
Hey! I am Daniela, 25 years old, from Portugal!

I graduated in Event Management, but shortly afterward,

I realized that it was not the area where I wanted to
spend the rest of my life working. Since I was a child, I
dreamed of working on television, so I ran after it and got
my first job in the production of a television program, but
I quickly realized that this did not allow me to fulfill my
biggest dream: to have my own business.

On March 2020, during the Covid lockdown, I started to

learn design with my boyfriend Lucas and started
working with him. We created a page on Instagram
@meansedesign to get some more clients, and I was
responsible for all marketing strategies. Our life started
to change with the exponential growth of the page and
all the new opportunities it has brought us (currently he
has 100k+ followers). And best of all, we were both
working on something we like. After some time, I
decided to start my page as a Social Media Marketer to
help you change your life and earn money doing what
you really like.
Welcome!
I want this guide to help you to create a high conversion
profile because it doesn't matter if you have thousands
of profile visits every day, without an optimized profile,
you won't be able to convert that visitors into followers.

Also, an optimized profile will make sure you are

attracting your ideal audience. This way, you will be able
to monetize your account later, turning your followers
into clients.

So, are you ready to take the first step towards building
a strong presence on Instagram? Keep with me!

Profile Optimization
What is an optimized profile?
We consider a page is optimized when it is ready to
convert your ideal audience into followers or clients.

Let's put it this way: The rule number one to build a

strong presence on Instagram is to be everywhere
because, without exposure, no one is going to know you!
If no one knows you, no one will visit your page, and if no
one visits your page, no one is going to follow you.

Buuuut....
What happens if you are everywhere, and lots of people
visit your page every day, but no one understands what
your page is about? You won't be able to convert them
into followers anyway.

And if your page is conveying the wrong message and

the people who are starting to follow you are not your
ideal audience? It will ruin your page, and you won't be
able to monetize it.

Profile Pic

Your profile pic is your first impression. It will be seen

everywhere and will represent your brand.
Choosing the wrong pic can prevent people from visiting
your profile. No visits, no followers, no customers.

You have two options:

1)Show your face

• Showing a face helps a lot in building trust with the
audience
• It makes your brand much more personal and helps
your audience connect with you
• People buy from brands they trust
• Help you boost Instagram growth because people are
more likely follow someone who shows their face rather
than a logo

7
Profile Pic

If you decide to show your face, consider these points:

• Use a photo that clearly shows your face
• Use your brand's color as the background (the color is
the first thing that human eyes understand. Your color
will make it quicker to recognize you when people scroll
through Instagram)
• Choose a photo that represents your personality as a
brand
• Use a high-quality photo

2)Using your brand's logo

Using your brand logo is still valid if you don't feel
comfortable showing your face and don't want your
brand to rely on your image.

Username +
Name

Username - Your username should be short and easy to

memorize.

Name + expertise/or location - You should include your

expertise/ or location because when someone, who
doesn't know your brand, wants to find a service on
Instagram, they use the search bar. Who is searching
uses a related keyword: your service or location
(depending on what they want), not your brand's name.

Bio + Link

Bio - What you do, and how you can help them, what
people can expect from your page, why they should
trust you, and a call to action.

Note: Your bio is meant to inspire people to trust you and

show how you can help them. Don’t show your services
here.

Link - Provide a link where people can find more value

or more info about your business.
If you have a website and other social media platforms,
use a multilink platform for people to visit you outside Ins-
tagram. Multilink platform to use on your page: Taplink.

Bio + Link

Useful tips on how to optimize your bio:

• Tell people clearly what you do/how you can help

them. Craft your positioning statement.
I help/teach xxxxx to xxxxx. (Ex: I help creatives to grow
a strong audience)

• Tell people what they can expect if they follow your

page. Inspire them to follow you. Ex: Daily tips on how to
grow organically

• Your authority statement. What is your experience? Ex:

I grew pages from 0 to 80k followers in 9 months.

• Your call to action. Encourage people to take action. Ex:

DM me for a personalized strategy.

You don't need to include everything because it proba-

bly won't even fit because of the characters limit. Think
about what is more important, taking into account your
purpose on Instagram.

11
Design

We most commonly hear that we should always focus

on good content. It is correct, but content alone doesn't
do all the job.

There is another huge factor: Design!

Design is what will invite your audience to read your con-

tent, and the content is what will convince them to follow.

Your brand identity must be optimized to attract your

ideal clients.

Design your brand identity to become recognizable and

attract your ideal clients.
Instagram is a visual platform. You have to make sure you
have a recognizable and appealing visual identity. Opti-
mize each element of your posts to be consistent with
your brand positioning.

12
Design

Create a consistent visual identity to follow in all of

your posts. This will make you recognizable in the
feeds of your followers and increase your engage-
ment.

Typefaces:
Choose one font for headlines and another one for
body text.

Colors:
Choose one main color and one secondary color.
You can always add black and white, no matter the
colors you chose.

you chose match each other.

Design

Graphic elements:
Make a list of your brand's more relevant characteris-
tics and see how other designers translate the same
characteristics into visuals.

How to keep an eye-catching page and how it im-

pacts the conversion rate

When people come to your page, the first significant

visual impression is your grid. If you don't catch their at-
tention, they won't start reading. Messy feeds don't grab
attention.

There are big accounts with messy feeds, but you need
to take into account that people follow them because
they are already big or because they already know them
for some reason. For starters, it is safer to keep a coher-
ent and consistent grid.

Use color patterns to keep a consistent and eye-catch-

ing feed.

Highlights

Make the most of your highlights!

Your Instagram Stories have a lifetime of 24h, and after

that, no one can see it.

Instagram stories are the best way to build trust with your
audience and convert sales. Highlight the best ones on
your page so people can see them when they visit your
page.

Some highlights suggestions for your page:

• About me: Talk about you/ your journey
• Services/ Products: Present your services/ products
• Q&A: Use the tag Questions for your audience to send
you some questions, answer, and highlight the most rele-
vant ones. Do this from time to time.
• Social proof/ testimonials: This is important to build
trust and should be highlighted on your profile.

18
Highlights

Create customized covers for your highlights. You can

use www.canva.com for example. Search for highlights
covers. There are many templates.

Important considerations:
• Use your brand color as the background
• Choose an icon for each highlight (about us, services/prod-
ucts, Q&A, and social proof). Each icon should be from the
same collection to communicate well together.
• Instead of an icon you can also use your pics, it makes
your audience connect better with you.

Update your highlights often. It makes sure you have an

active page.

Note: When you have reached 10k followers, you can

create a highlight named Links and place all the most im-
portant links with a swipe up.

19
Content

A content strategy is essential to keep you on the right

track. Your content should always be aligned with your
ideal audience because it is what makes them want to
follow you. If your content does not align with your audi-
ence's needs, there is no reason to follow you.

You should choose the type of content you are going to

share, taking into account your purpose (your goals with
your page) and your niche (ex: Instagram Marketing for
creatives; wedding photography) and stick to it.

These are four types of content:

Educational: When you teach something to your audi-
ence, no matter the format.
Inspirational: When you inspire your audience to do
something.
Entertaining: When you create content to literally enter-
tain your audience.
Informative: When you provide content intending to
inform about something.

20
Content

It is important to create a habit. Choose what content

format you are going to use: Carousels, Single Posts,
IGTV, Reels. It can be a mix, but if so, make sure you
create a content schedule where you can consistently
fit every kind of content.

If you always post the same type of posts, you are train-
ing your audience to like it more. So let's suppose you
usually only post carousels, and one day you post a
single post or a video. It is normal if this post underper-
form.

Keep a consistent posting schedule. No one likes to

visit a page and see inconsistency: one post 2 days ago,
another post 1 week ago, another one 1 month ago...
When you see this, you never know when they are going
to post again, so you are less likely to follow because you
don't know what do expect.
