= 500,000 – 300,000

= 200,000

(iii) Rate of return on capital. (2 marks)

= Net profit/capitalx100

Net profit = GP-EXPENSES

= 200,000-60,000 = 140,000

= 140,000/1000,000 x 100 = 14%
