They illegally acquire your details and sell without consent

They acquired our non-public business emails that are used for administration purposes only, and decided to sell them without our consent. I only found out after one of the many businesses bombarding us responded to our demand to disclose where our details were acquired from. Disgusting practice.

I love this program and would recommend it to anyone who is really looking for a tool that helps them contact the right people.

I am really disappointed in this platform.

I am really disappointed in this platform. It feels like they're changing the UI all the time just for the sake of changing it, the layout is not intuitive, and I've waited 30+minutes for "live" support. I have also received tons of outdated data - people no longer at the company listed in Apollo. Pretty poor experience overall.

Apollo NOT a good partner to work with

Hi Just signed up with Apollo and it seems very slow in its response. The platform just hangs for a while before it responds.

I tried to get training and wasn't able to make the date and time they set up. I asked to reschedule and they said they couldn't without management approval. This is absurd.

I sent a support ticket and haven't gotten a response yet. Not even an acknowledgment.

I am looking to replace this service

On training: it looks like your team already completed an onboarding session previously, and we also held time for a follow-up session you confirmed but weren’t able to attend. Because live onboarding slots are limited, no-shows typically forfeit that session.

That said, we can absolutely share the recording from your original onboarding so you still have the full walkthrough. I asked our team to send that your way. We also offer free live webinars with Q&A (covering topics like outbound workflows, admin setup, and CRM integrations) if you’d like a structured way to get up to speed.

Congrats Apollo, you won my $356 but lost my respect

I don’t know how many of you have experience with Apollo’s refund policy, but basically it literally impedes any refund, even when it is clearly evident that the purchase was a mistake.

In my case, I mistakenly activated an extra seat (I thought I had an extra user included in my plan) and was billed with $356, pro-rata. I immediately contacted support to ask for reimbursement, proving that I was not intending to buy another seat, just to invite a new user.

Despite all evidence, “policies” do not allow reimbursement.

So yes, Apollo, you won my $356 but definitely got zero possibility that I recommend your tool to my network.

Just for the sake of curiosity, how many others had a similar issue?
Can you suggest more customer friendly alternatives?

Looks like this charge happened because an extra seat was activated unintentionally when adding a Billing/Seat Manager and selecting the wrong admin permission. That’s an easy mistake to make, and you flagged it immediately.

We initially declined the refund due to how prorated seat changes and credits work on the account, but after reviewing your case, we’re making a one-time exception and refunding the $356 prorated charge.

A member of our team will follow up on your existing support ticket shortly with the confirmation and details.

Again, sorry for the hassle here. We’re also taking this as a signal we need to make the seat/permission flow and refund guidance clearer so this doesn’t happen to others.

Pathetic Customer Support & Broken Credit System

Apollo.io might look great on the surface, but the customer service is honestly one of the worst I’ve experienced.

A simple support ticket takes around 2 weeks just to close, and even then the responses feel slow, generic, and unhelpful. If you're running a business and need fast resolution, Apollo is a headache.

On top of that, they introduced some new feature called a “waterfall” system (whatever nonsense that is), and it completely messes up the way credits are used. Credits get consumed unpredictably, and it feels like you're constantly losing value without clear transparency.

Overall, Apollo has become more frustrating than useful. If you're serious about lead generation, I strongly recommend you look for better platforms with reliable support and clearer credit usage.

On the credit side: it sounds like Waterfall enrichment (and related enrichment options) were enabled in a way that wasn’t clear, which led to more credits being used than you expected. That’s not the experience we want, and we agree credit usage should be transparent and predictable.

We reviewed your account and tickets, and we’re issuing a one-time 100% credit restoration for the credits impacted, given both the support delay and the Waterfall/AI enrichment confusion. You don’t need to do anything. We’ll follow up directly in your existing open ticket with confirmation and details!

If you’re open to it, we’d also like to walk through your enrichment settings so this doesn’t happen again and you have full control over which sources/features are used.

Their info database is fine, and for the most part pretty solid info in it. But their sequencer and SEP tool were rancid. Possibly the most useless Hubspot integration I've ever had to deal with.

False Advertising

Apollo.io have run a blatantly false advertising campaign reflecting a change to one of their key features that we use often. They stated that restrictions would be imposed on this feature for our paid plan. These restrictions were still workable for us, however, we have found out since that the feature has been switched off completely; the feature being website visitors. We were not told this would be the case (we were in fact told the opposite) and we've been told that we have to double our spend with them in order to reaccess this feature. It's also important to note that this was manually imposed on our account because it took place eight days after the originally advertised change was meant to occur. And their website and plan list still includes this website visitor feature as an option for our paid plan, which is blatantly a lie because we're on that plan and we do not receive access to that feature anymore. When I spoke to support, they said they were sunsetting the feature and that they acknowledged they failed to communicate it properly to all of their customers, which is extremely poor.

- We did not sunset Website Visitors entirely. We introduced new packaging alongside our Inbound add-on and communicated the change 3 months ahead of time via multiple channels.

- You can still access 100 company website visitors at no cost, which is why it continues to appear as an available capability for your plan.

- For teams that need higher volume, the Inbound add-on unlocks up to 50,000 website visitors/month.

However, if our website plan page or the way this was communicated left you feeling misled, that’s on us to fix. We’re reviewing how this is presented and messaged so it’s unambiguous.
