I do not recommend anything related to…
I do not recommend anything related to this rental company. They add a lot of extra charges, and a 7-day rental can end up costing nearly €1,000… If you don’t want to ruin your vacation, don’t rent from here.
Great car Very bad rental conditions
Great car Very bad rental conditions, never gonna rent through click & rent again.
Good - reliable rental process
The rental process was well organized. The shuttle bus arrives at Málaga Airport Terminal 3 and takes you to the car rental office in about 6 minutes. We received the small car within roughly 30 minutes. It’s definitely worth checking in online in advance — after that, everything runs smoothly, including the return process. We requested a small car and got exactly that. Unfortunately, the GPS was not working, but we managed using our mobile phones. The car was fuel-efficient, reliable, and caused no problems during our trip. The deposit was €200, which is still blocked at the moment, but I hope it will be released back to my account soon.
It would be helpful if the company communicated in English as well, not only in Spanish, but overall everything went well.
DO NOT RENT HERE!!!
DO NOT RENT HERE! This is a nightmare! Worst experience ever! I reserved a VW T-Cross but got a much smaller Kia Stonic instead. We were traveling with a baby and a lot of luggage that never fitted in the smaller car. They did not come up with any solution but instead forced us to put a lot of luggage on the passenger seat which made driving very unsafe because of the limited view on the right mirror. We had to drive like this a lot as we had several holiday locations on the island, also in the mountains. THEY RUINED OUR HOLIDAY with this as we were unsafe in the car while driving with a BABY!!! Also after emailing the customer service asking for a solution they came up with very bad arguments why the Kia was a similar car. But everybody knows it's not! It is more than 100 liters smaller in luggage space! I will probably be able to charge back my money via the creditcard company, but the holiday will be lost for ever. BETTER PAY A LITTLE MORE AND RENT SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!
Perfect Service and good prices.
Perfect Service with really good prices.
Shuttle frecuency is 10-15 minutes, and it is a 5 minutes drive to the office from the airport. Collecting the vehicle was fast. New, perfectly clean vehicle. The staff was sso friendly. Car return is easy as well, just took the staff 3 minutes to check the car, the insurance deposit eas returned to my bank instantly.
Highly recommended.
Everything was great
Everything was great. We chose the service based on the “cheapest option” criterion, so we were mentally prepared for potential unpleasant surprises, but there were none. For €26 per day we got a Peugeot 208 with an automatic transmission, full insurance, and a 200 km limit (with limited insurance it would have been only €8, but we didn’t want to risk it). The paperwork took 10–15 minutes, and having a non-EU driving license didn’t cause any issues.
The only surprise was a €200 deposit that had to be paid when picking up the car (it wasn’t mentioned in advance). However, it was refunded to the card within an hour after returning the car.
This rental company is a huge scam
This rental company is a huge scam. I rented a car in October for a week, returned it intact with a full tank of fuel, and received a refund of €1,500 from a €2,000 deposit. The day before picking up the car, I was informed at Alicante airport that the office was closed until 10 p.m. and I would be at the airport at 10:30 p.m. The employee wrote that no one would wait with the car. I should add that the pickup dates and times were given during the booking and payment in advance. NIK also provided information that the rental company is not open 24 hours. The return was also problematic, as I checked in at 6:30 a.m. and we rented from 7 a.m. I do not recommend them. They are common scammers!!!!
I am sharing my experience so other…
I booked a car through the DoYouSpain website, where ClickRent was the local rental provider. The rental was advertised as 200€ for 7 days with insurance included. Unfortunately, the entire experience felt misleading and extremely disappointing.
After arriving in Spain, we were picked up from the airport but had to wait around 30 minutes before reaching the ClickRent office. Once at the reception, we were suddenly informed that we had to pay several additional mandatory charges that were not clearly disclosed during the online booking process:
• 200€ deposit
• 294€ additional insurance, despite insurance being advertised as included
• 155€ fuel charge
• 80€ child seat – which was in horrible condition, dirty and full of ants
These unexpected fees increased the rental price dramatically and felt like a classic bait-and-switch tactic. Customers are attracted by a low advertised price online, only to be forced to pay hundreds of euros more at pickup, when refusing is not really an option because you risk losing your prepaid booking and being left without transportation.
The lack of pricing transparency, poor hygiene of the equipment provided, long waiting time, and overall unprofessional service made this one of the worst rental experiences I have ever had.
I strongly advise future customers to carefully read all terms and be prepared for significant hidden costs when booking through DoYouSpain and renting from ClickRent. Based on this experience, I would not use these services again.
I rented a car after making an online…
I rented a car after making an online reservation in advance. The price shown was 200€ for 7 days and it was stated that this amount included insurance.
However, when we arrived to pick up the car, we were told that the insurance was NOT included and had to be paid separately, along with a deposit. As a result, the final price became 85€ per day for a Nissan, which is extremely expensive and completely unreasonable compared to what was initially advertised.
In addition, we were charged 80€ for a child seat that was in a deplorable condition (it even had ants inside). This is unacceptable and unsafe for a child.
Overall, this was a very disappointing experience.
The company is not professional, the prices are misleading, and the service is overpriced.
I do not recommend this company.
We rented a car through DoYouSpain…
We rented a car through DoYouSpain (paid €181.73) and were referred to Click Rent in Tenerife. There we had to pay an additional €303 as a fuel deposit, which was supposed to be fully refunded. We returned the car with a full tank and clean, but not a single euro was refunded.
The fine print says “full-empty/empty-empty,” but this was NOT explained to us when we picked up the car. We were clearly misled.
The end result: Doyouspain refunded €53.52 for the double insurance. But to date, Click Rent has not refunded the €303 because my husband is on the contract and I made the payment? It feels like a tourist trap and almost a scam. Avoid!
Psychotic Member of Staff
I love Spain, I love its people and its culture, but I have just met with the rudest, unprofessional, most psychotic woman working for your company.
I am in my first year of being a Spanish resident with a TIE card. I have used your company 3 or 4 times including a van hire and always recommend your company to family and friends. NEVER AGAIN! This woman has destroyed my trust in you, and I will actively tell people to stay away from you in case they get this woman serving them.
If you check your video/audio recordings of Wednesday, 4th February at approximately 9:15am at your Malaga Airport branch, you will see we spoke to a woman with black curly hair which was tied back.
Not once did I raise my voice, swear at her or call her a name (check the audio). I even tried to calm the situation down myself, but her unprofessional customer service level was so low, she turned psychotic on us.
I could not rent the van I had hired, because I have been waiting 6 months for my UK drivers licence to be exchanged for a Spanish licence (this is not your problem I know). However, the Gestor dealing with this, gave me a ‘provisional certificate’ with a copy of my UK license and told me that these should be accepted for car hire. They were not accepted by you, and this is fine, if it is your rules, I was of course frustrated, but rules are rules.
However, I meant to be moving house that day and explained this, and it seemed to fill her with glee. She started to smile and laugh at my bad luck. This is where the conversation got heated because I said she seemed to be enjoying this situation because she was smiling and laughing at us, not serious, understanding or in any way apologetic at my situation.
I mentioned that licenses take about 2-3 weeks turn-around in the UK, and her words were “well if you don’t like living here, then why don’t you go back to your own country?”, when I was simply pointing out that waiting 6 months for a drivers licence to be exchanged is crazy - she did not like me criticising how long it’s taken… this is of course, not your fault, but not my fault either. However, her attitude was rude and un-apologetic, laughing and smiling at our frustration as though she had won a fight.
Out of curiosity, I then asked her a question… What if I had come in just with my UK passport and UK drivers license and not mentioned I was a resident with TIE, would I have been able to hire the van then? It was a simple question that deserved a simple yes or no answer, but she took that as me wanting to lie to her… she called me a liar for even thinking I would consider that!!!
When my friend walked out and said ‘this is disgusting service”, this woman then started shouting at me and telling me my friend has said that ‘she’ was disgusting. This is NOT what my friend had said, and he was quite right, her level of compassion for my predicament, and customer service was beyond terrible, almost as though she was enjoying turning us away and saying no to us.
I actually stayed and calmed her down (this is not my job as a customer to calm your staff down) and she demanded an apology from my friend. He had no apology to make, because he had NOT said that ‘SHE’ was disgusting, only the lack of friendliness, compassion, good customer service and the arrogance of this woman - THAT was what was disgusting..
She refused to give me her name. I said I’ll take a photo, so I have some reference for this complaint about her unprofessional service, but she said she’ll call the police because I’m not allowed to take the photo. I don’t know if this is true or not, so I did not take the photo of her.
I accept that I could not hire the van without my physical drivers licence, and I would have understood her bad behaviour if I had shouted, insulted her, sworn at her or called her names, but I did none of that, I was just frustrated, which she should have understood, but she seemed to take delight in it.
I will never use your company again, and do my best to warn other people away from you, unless you can provide me with an apology, and this woman is re-trained in compassion and good/professional customer service, or at least given a warning that her unprofessional behaviour was unacceptable. Please watch the video and audio.
Dishonest and corrupt
We hired a car over the new year period
We upgraded to a SUV
Waited 40mins to find a vehicle
Found damage on the vehicle
They said they knew about
Returned the vehicle and was accused of causing the same damage that they already had on record
Obviously we said we did not cause it, but then asked did you take out insurance? As soon as we said yes they they said don’t worry and all they saw was pound notes!
They were going to charge us regardless!!!
I find there practices and procedures to be fraudulent and dishonest
I’ve sent several letters of complaint and they are just refusing to answer my emails with a reasonable explanation
This company is a scam and avoid like the plague!!!!
The windscreen wipers were knackered
The windscreen wipers were knackered, it was wet weather when we were there and the wipers continually dragged across the windscreen. A simple check would have remedied this issue. The car also advised that the car came with sat nav, it didn't and the car play didn't work either. We're back there again next year, it would be interesting to see if they offer a good deal to return.
Worst rental company ever
Worst rental company ever! Stole my deposit on 2 occasions! And the cars are in terrible condition
horrible,is a scam they say one thing…
horrible,is a scam they say one thing and do another one just to get more money, not honest and they charged me 2 times for just one car
I had a flat tire on the highway with a car for which I had comprehensive insurance. You were unable to repair the tire and offered me a replacement car for the remainder of my rental. However, you charged me unreasonable fees for the missing fuel in the damaged car, which I was unable to refuel due to its condition.
