Great quality and portions
This meal service actually has great portions and the food quality is great. Every other premade meal service that I’ve tried was just convenient, but the food never tasted good. With CookUnity, I actually enjoy the food as well.
I would not use cook unity
I would not use cook unity. Deliveries were consistently late with the last delivery was at 1140 pm. Customer service was tedious and not helpful. I would NOT recommend them. Very disappointing experience.
Cook Unity is Wonderful
Cook Unity is wonderful. As a food service, their quality of food to me stands unrivaled. They also have many different cuisines available, or you can your choose meals by individual Chefs on a weekly basis. As a regular user of home-delivery food services, I have tried others, and found that the food quality does not compare elsewhere.
Cook Unity is also well-aligned with individual diet needs, like other food services, but their food is made of better quality and quantity on arrival.
They deliver to my front door, and not the apartment mailroom, which is also a nice touch for those of us that live in rental apartments.
I have referred both friends and family to Cook Unity, and they are also very happy with them. Overall I would personally rate Cook Unity as my top favorite food service. This with both quality and with flavors of food, that is unmatched with other food services, and in my view and experiences with others. The food and quality at Cook Unity just feels much more customized, versus a mass-produced (food) product. - All at the same comparable price as other food services.
Overall, I plan to continue ordering food service with them in the immediate future, and would highly recommend them to others looking for a high quality meal delivery service with healthy food choice options.
Delicious meals
The food is delicious and packaged well. Great customer service. Highly recommend.
Dissappointing
I signed up online to try out the service. On the scheduled date, my order never arrived. When I contacted them it took them over 5 minutes just to find my account. Then the representative's first question was did I have an email I could check. Yet the chat starts out with all the account information including email and phone number! I was ultimately told the order "was cancelled so it could be rescheduled" by me, which never happened. If that had been the case, there should have been an email or some record of the cancellation, but the only email I received from them was the one confirming the order. I cancelled my account. If that was my first experience I can only imagine what the future would hold.
I really like the food quality and…
I really like the food quality and variety. I liked it so much I referred my brother and got a discount! Some foods that I like cost extra so I save those for when I can afford to splurge. I can skip weeks I don't need the food with no problem. Or I can change the number of meals I get from week to week. I also like the extras like mango oatmeal and banana bread, though those are not very economical. Sometimes the website is hard to navigate. If I don't pick my weekly menu they pick it for me. I clear the cart but it takes a couple of tries of refreshing the page and going back and forth for it to update. Overall, I recommend this food service, especially if it's just for one person and you don't feel like cooking every day..
A few adjustments and it would be perfect
I’ve been using CookUnity for approximately two years, and overall it has been a positive experience. The quality of the food is noticeably better than other meal delivery services I’ve tried, and their customer service has consistently been excellent.
That said, there are two areas where I believe improvement is needed, which is why I’ve rated it just shy of five stars. First, while the overall food quality is good, the quality of the protein in some meals has been disappointing. On several occasions, I’ve received what appear to be lower-quality cuts of meat that are excessively fatty. Given that meals range from $12 to $18 each, the expectation is that high-quality protein would be used consistently.
Second, if I miss the weekly deadline to select my meals, the algorithm seems to default to less popular or less desirable options. Rather than selecting meals based on my previous or historical preferences, it feels more like a “you get what you get” outcome, which can be frustrating for a paid service.
Overall, CookUnity has still been better than other meal delivery services I’ve used. With a few thoughtful adjustments in these areas, it could easily be a five-star experience for me.
Meals are wonderful and varied
Meals are wonderful and varied; so much fun to try new cuisines while wathing my calories, etc. I have used multiple services in the past 4 years, and this is, by far my favorite!
Unreliable. Horrible CS. Does not keep its word as a company
See previous review below. Will rate again after trying all the food.
CS finally - after 3 escalations - credited me towards trying them again. I will try again as according to my 6ft older teen son, it was better quality and taste than Factor/Chefsplate. To note I never had delivery issues with either of those two companies. Delivery finally came just before 10pm.
Previous review, in case someone has similar issues- Delivery window is 9am-9pm. This is fine. However I recieved a text stating delivery would be between 4:30-7:30. However, no delivery, and IMPOSSIBLE to use the tracking link - it did not work. I scheduled my kids dinner around the 7:30 time. No delivery until almost 10pm! I contacted Customer Service twice... no help.
As compensation they offered an additional 15% off the NEXT ORDER. They also kept sending me pngs to prove that they were allowed to deliver by 9pm (which they did not).
Poor customer service. Unreliable. Does not keep its word as a company. If you are in Montreal - DO NOT ORDER from Cook Unity - their excuse was bad road conditions from Toronto.
There are many alternatives out there now.
Cook Unity is a Real Treat
We enjoyed the prompt meal deliveries of an assortment of well-planned, delicious, affordable meals. Cook Unity provide well-balanced meals with the option to upgrade or customize from week to week. The lamb chops and Kung Pao fish was a big winner for me.
Far less Keto options than before, and 30% nurse/teacher discount seems to limit your choices.
I had this for a while, and it was FANTASTIC. The food was great, and honestly it was enough for 2 meals. So my 12 meals would stretch more than 12 meals. LOTS of variety week to week. I was 100% thoroughly satified with it. Plenty of Keto options.
Until today.
Hadn't used them in a while. When I went to their website, put in my zip code, it showed me 202 meals, 10 of which were keto. I added 12 to my cart, put in my info, and got to the final page to pay just fine with those 12 meals. But then, I confirmed my status as a public servant, which offers a 30% discount to police, firefighters, teachers, nurses, etc. I applied that discount, the price reflected the 30% off, and my meal choices went from 202 meals, to just 41 choices. When I selected keto meals, it went from 10 keto meals without discount, to only 2 meals. So it appears that if you are a public servant and apply the discount they advertise, you only get 20% of the choices. So that's 30% off, for 80% less options. SUPER not cool, guys. Super not cool.
I contacted them and they deny that the discount limits the variety of meals available. But it makes no sense that prior to the discount, there were 10 Keto options a week, now 2. I remember there being LOTS of Keto options when I used them before, and now there's only 2 a week? So with the 12 meal plan, I can eat each one 6 times and get bored.
So regardless if they change the offerings based on whether or not you receive a discount, the offerings have changed, and 2 choices for my particular diet isn't sustainable.
Does not disappoint.
Great meal service! Quick and easy, keeps me out of the grocery store every week - the food is fresh, delicious and healthier than takeout.
I absolutely adore Cook Unity
I absolutely adore Cook Unity. No, not every meal is a slam dunk, but if I ever have issues with my order, their customer service team is quick to fix it, and they're kind and courteous. It's great they have GF options (so many places don't!) but I do wish they had more GF options that are lower carb! But what I do is just split a meal in half and eat a salad with it, and it helps me keep my blood sugar under control. Thanks Cook Unity for being awesome!
i enjoyed the meals prepared for me
i enjoyed the meals prepared for me. not only are they filling and satisfying but they are also delicious and well-balanced. i like that i no longer need to do grocery shopping, cooking and washing of dishes. saves a lot of time for someone on the go like me!
No thank you
My first order. All of the chicken was overcooked, even the one that came with undercooked rice. Dry, no flavor, even hard to cut, could have been turkey who knows. Then I had the teriyaki which was dark meat so hard to over cook, who eats baked skin? Eeew, not me. Not enough sauce to even flavor the meat. The brocolli in my tofu was yellow and brown, looked bad but was put in there anyway. I had a couple of things that were good if you like a blah sort of mayonnaise dressing and not enough of it. The tofu was the best thing but I don’t really like much tofu like if that’s all I got. Overall threw away more than I ate. The best thing was the matcha tiramisu if I could just order that I’d be happy I guess.
Terrible customer service and great…
Terrible customer service and great food (with a few exceptions). I just disputed the last transaction with my bank as they stopped responding to my emails. They have not phone number, so you either have email or text message, but no way to speak with a person. They have had an issue with their website since we began ~4 months ago and they kept saying that their team is fixing it. The result was that 1 week's order was 100% wrong and cancelled and it happened twice. Customer service sounds extremely polite, but in the last 12 months felt very AI like and not fixing the issues at all and just postponing and postponing and never fixing the real issue I ask them about. It's a shame as the chefs are making delicious meals, but unfortunately because of Cookunity's terrible customer service I just cannot tolerate it anymore.
Enjoying the meals so far
Enjoying the meals so far. Better than other meal services that I have tried. Ordering again.
CookUnity has been a great experience
CookUnity has been a great experience! Their customer service is responsive, friendly, and genuinely helpful whenever I’ve needed support. The meals themselves are delicious, well-prepared, and offer a nice variety, making it easy to enjoy high-quality food without the hassle of cooking. Overall, it’s a convenient and satisfying service that delivers both great food and great support.
Love the food delivery service, quality & portions
Love the food delivery service.I ordered several food services for my 89 year old mom without luck, but CookUnity give us fresh, healthy and delicious meals deliver to you doorstep. The service give me piece of mind she is eating nutritious food without having to cook or be on the stove. This service truly made a difference in her daily routine. I highly recommend to anyone specially for loved ones who deserve care & comfort.
Varied, tasty, consistent meal service
I needed a lot of meals while my friends took care of me after ankle surgery so they wouldnt have to cook for me too. It was easy to order, lots of choices and variety (about 400 options) every week, consistent no-issue delivery, easy to skip weeks, easy to change meal plan size up or down, and easy to cancel. Zero problems over several months with my subscription. Most meals were very tasty, no duds, but I also wasn't trying to eat healthy either. When I did need to eat healthier that's when I started to struggle, which was my problem not theirs.
