Missing item, delayed delivery & no response from customer service

I placed an order on 5 January 2026 for a weekly planner and dotted notebook bundle. The order confirmation clearly stated that both items were included.

When the parcel eventually arrived — after a noticeable delivery delay — only the weekly planner was inside. The dotted notebook was missing.

I emailed customer service on 19 January to report the issue and received no response. I followed up again and still heard nothing.

For a brand that positions itself as premium, this experience has been disappointing. A delayed delivery is frustrating but understandable; failing to include part of a confirmed order and then not responding to customer emails is not.

At this point, over a month later, I am still waiting for a response, but the lack of communication has significantly reduced my confidence in ordering again.

Absolutely awful

I purchased a Monocle pen as I do a lot of journaling. I wanted a pen that wouldn't splodge ink. The Monocle pen was a bit uncomfortable to write with but the ink didn't splodge. However, the ink ran out after writing only eight A4 pages. This was an expensive pen so I was very disappointed.
I have contacted customer services but they haven't even acknowledged my email. I wish that I read these reviews before I made my purchase. The whole experience has been disappointing and frustrating.

No updates, no customerservice.

Placed an order on 6th of january with a delivery time of maximum 21 days. No update in my account regarding my order. No shipping label. With the payment for the order was no issue ofcourse. Non-responsive customerservice, which I think just doesn't exist. After a couple of emails from my side that they left unanswered, I've had enough and filed for a refund with my Visa company. Avoid this company.

Absolutely dreadful. Avoid at all costs. No response nothing. How is this allowed to go on companies setting up and defrauding everyone who is foolish enough to buy from them

Absolutely appalling customer service

Absolutely appalling customer service. Spent £53 on 4/11/25 and have not received my goods nor a refund nor any response to my many emails. I almost always check reviews before buying and stupidly I was fooled by the professional appearance of their website. I don’t think I will ever get my money back so all I can do is try to warn others - stay well away.

Terrible unresponsive customer service, avoid at all costs.

Terrible unresponsive customer service. ordered a journal, told it would arrive in 7 days. 21 day pass still unable to reach customer service finally forced to dispute with credit card and request to cancel. Finally speak to customer services after 3 weeks to find out they haven't shipped anything in January.

Appalling customer service

Three items ordered on the 9th December. I received the pen holder just before Christmas, the pencil two weeks after and am still awaiting the 2026 planner. I have requested a refund four times now and only received one reply saying I will get the planner at the start of February. I am still emailing to get a refund. Terrible customer service - do not order from this company.

basic items out of stock, perpetual customer service misunderstandings, impossibility of refund

This review concerns Leuchtturm1917 Canada.
Two years in a row the basic black A5 planner + notebook in English has gone out of stock prematurely owing to incorrect sales forecasting. My order for the 2026 planner was acknowledged, but after three weeks of silence I sent an email to customer service, who took several more days to reply to the effect that the item was out of stock, despite the web page showing it as in stock at the time of my order.
They offered several lurid colours in lieu of the black (I am a sober 65-year-old man, and eschew a weekly planner in magenta, or dusty rose, .... etc. ad nauseam). Or, I could have my order placed on back-order, with no foreseeable expectation of delivery - indeed, I was advised that fulfilment might go well into 2026.
I therefore requested a refund, and was asked to fill out a PDF form with my credit card information. There is no "safe-drop" portal in which such information can be left - credit card information must be sent by email, where it will be accessible by various and sundry personnel. I declined this option, and enquired of other basic notebooks which they might send, to the dollar amount of my order, with a view to fulfilment of sorts, that we may be done with the constant back and forth emails. They consented, and included a "gift" which I did not need. In retrospect, I should have contacted my bank's fraud department to have the transaction annulled. But it was too late.
Never again, sorry. I had been a customer for years, but this is the limit. I'm going back to Moleskine even though I don't quite like the format, but in the end, a planner is a planner.
Beware, stay away - there is no possibility of doing business properly with these people.
***added later, same day: this story has a happy ending - I received my Moleskine within 24 hours of ordering it, via amazon's regular delivery, no special request on my part. Can you beat THAT?

Product warranty only on paper

Despite their product warranty, they will not support their customers when they have a broken item. The pencil's mechanism stopped working and they were quick to reply to offer some troubleshooting I might try, however when I went back to them saying nothing worked, they stopped replying. Way to go, Leuchtturm, buy stationery for ££, only to realize the quality is a total letdown. I was a big Leuchtturm fan, now because of their customer service, I will stop buying from them.

Poor customer service

I've been using their notepads for many years now, all i wanted to do was order some new one. I had looked into maybe having a customised notepad much earlier this year and decided against it sue to the price. However, finally needed some new notebooks so added a couple to my empty cart. Went through, logged in and paid for the order. Only then did i realise it had for some reason gone back to the customised item i had looked at months before. Unfortunately it was late on a Friday afternoon, so I sent them an email through their system immediately to cancel the order, I also called as soon as I could Monday morning to cancel too. They told me it was too late to cancel because it was customised, though i doubt they'd done anything with it at the point really. Very disappointed with their customer service, and turns out you can buy their notepads much cheaper elsewhere than their website, so I won't be using them directly again. Avoid and use your local retailer instead, probably get much better better customer cervice.

Extremely disappointed with both the…

Extremely disappointed with both the product quality and customer service.

I bought a Leuchtturm1917 pen for 30 euros, expecting a premium writing experience — but it stopped working after just one page. The ink ran out or dried instantly, which is unacceptable for a product in this price range.

Their notebooks and pens may look elegant, but the quality simply doesn’t match the cost.

To make things worse, their customer service is useless if you don’t have a receipt. Since I’m traveling and no longer have the receipt, they couldn’t offer any real help or exchange — even though the product was clearly faulty. The support team keeps replying politely, but provides no actual solution.

Honestly, I feel completely let down. I do not recommend buying anything from Leuchtturm1917

Notebook sheets where glued together…

Notebook sheets where glued together and they refused to do anything about it because "they don't ship to my country", and I bought it in my country... so yeah...
Don't contact them, it's an absolute waste of time, just avoid the company

Terrible / non-existent customer…

Terrible / non-existent customer service here in Canada. Calls, emails all go completely unanswered. Not sure if I’ll ever receive my planner at this stage. Will just go back to Moleskine the future.

Worst Customer Service- Doesn't Answer Emails

Absolutely horrible experience after ordering from the website.

I placed an order in November for a notebook with custom embossing. I was told the order would take 5-9 business days before being shipped out. Which is fine and gave me plenty of time to receive the order before Christmas.

My order status didn't update or change whatsoever after weeks. I sent 2 emails to this company, and they didn't get back to me once (still haven't!). I called their order hotline and was able to speak to a woman who was sympathetic and surprised that my order hadn't been processed (since it had been 2 weeks!). She said she'd contact the warehouse, ask them to provide me with my shipping details, and that she'd send me an email once speaking to the warehouse.

This was over a week ago, and I didn't receive any email followup. My order status continues to show as "processing"... I've tried to call the hotline another 2 times during business hours, and I've left voicemails. No one has gotten back to me.

Update (Dec 16 2024): I called again today and got through to a CS rep. I expressed my frustrations with the order/lack of communication, and asked that she please email me after she speaks to the warehouse to update me with my order status. What do you know, today I received an email from the CS rep. And it contained my tracking number! They shipped my order today (could be a coincidence or maybe because I called several times).

My review and experience still stands- this company doesn't seem to answer emails at all. I had sporadic success in actually reaching a CS rep when I called during business hours. So I'd still avoid ordering from this site because I'm not confident that I would have received my order in absence of my periodic follow up. The fact that they don't answer emails is also concerning. Fingers crossed I receive my order without issue.

German quality from, er, China?

Just got our new planners, which I've been buying for years. My annual little gift of German craftsmanship.
Except it’s not….. they are made in China! How long has this been going on? How boring. Nothing against China. But I prefer authenticity.

Catastrophic

J'ai commandé un agenda début février. Mon colis a été perdu par le service de livraison. Lorsque j'ai enfin pu le récupérer le carton était ouvert et le colis était vide. Un mois plus tard je n'ai donc toujours pas reçu mon agenda. J'ai envoyé une réclamation au service de client mais je n'ai toujours pas reçu de réponse à ce jour. J'ai donc simplement perdu 30€.

I ordered a diary at the beginning of February. My package was lost by the delivery service. When I could finally collect it, the box was open and the package was empty. A month later I still haven't received my diary. I sent a complaint to customer service but have still not received any answer. So I lost €30.

Great service

Fantastic quality notebooks and sketchbooks, in a range of sizes, colours, and styles unlike almost any other brand. A little on the pricey side, but in my opinion worth every penny. Their standard notebooks work great with my fountain pen and are a firm favourite. I especially appreciate the archiving stickers they come packaged with, which make storing and identifying old journals so much easier.

I had some problems with shipping times earlier this year, but they responded to my queries promptly and offered refunds without fuss.
