Files on demand?
Nope. Keep dreaming. It’s been almost 6 years since it was requested, and still nothing.
It’s okay-ish for private use, but if you want to share large files?
Either give up your encryption by using Transfer.it, or make everyone else consume your transfer quota.
Transfer.it also scrambles the folder structure, which makes it extremely annoying to work with.
Since Files on Demand isn’t a thing, you’re forced to manually maintain and update your files locally, or completely restructure your folders... which is nonsense.
Does MEGA seriously expect everyone to have 10TB of free storage lying around just because they bought the 10TB plan?
Coming from Dropbox, this felt like a fever dream. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.
Maybe in another 6 years, Files on Demand will finally be implemented, by the MEGA team’s janitor.
20 Gb free storage and minimal upgrade cost post that. Even free account allowed to have free email support and genuine one. Im glad to be part of Mega

I had this Mega account for some time, and had a lot of pictures there, one day I decided that I was no longer gonna need the account and deleted it. But after some weeks I realized that that Mega account was very useful to store any videos or pictures that I wanted to store without having to use space from my phone, and hence improving the performance of my device. Thing is, my account was deleted by following the whole instructions to get rid of it, so it was gone, but today I decided to give it a shot and contact the customer service and send them a message to see if I could recover it, they reached out to me by email, telling me that they could make an exception, and then I was able to recover it. I liked that they were able to follow up and help me quite fast I, and that they were merciful with my account even though I deleted it. Really appreciate it, and recommend the app due to how even being free, it has good space to save ideos and pictures or data.

Great company. I've been using Mega for several years. I use it as a backup for my NAS drive.
The app and website are a little slow, but I attribute that to the servers being on the other side of the world (I'm in the US).
I recently had an issue with my billing address. I contacted customer support by email, and they helped me take care of it quickly. This involved canceling and renewing my subscription.
However, I did this in the middle of the month, so I lost the second half of a month that I already paid for. It wasn't worth that much money, so I told them not to worry about it and just gave them the feedback that they should fix this in the future.
They took it upon themselves to manually credit my account for the remaining half of the month that I had lost. I wasn't expecting this, and it shows how they went above and beyond.
I've noticed new features have been added to the product since I initially signed up years ago. So, I'm now curious to try more of what they offer.
As far as I know, Mega is still the cheapest zero-trust, end-to-end encrypted storage solution for large amounts of storage (>1TB).

The email address that I have used to create my account with MEGA was no longer accessible. Therefore, I was not able to loggin to my account.
I was so afraid to loose all my pictures.
But I had my connection key.
I wrote yo MEGA customer service.
They helped me by changing my email address so I could use my connection key and my new email address to access to my account again.
I was so grateful that MEGA customer service helped me so I didn't lost all my previous pictures.

Introduced a policy of purging data if inactive. Had data stored here for many years and then suddenly it was permanently deleted without me knowing. If you're going to introduce a policy like that after many years of not having it, the grace period should be much longer than 3 months. Even more so if said policy is quietly added to the TOS. Absolutely livid and will never ever use this service again in my life.
Edit: Found some shared files from a friend that I was transferring out of MEGA since it's not safe to keep them there. Got a pop-up saying I had depleted my transfer quota. REALLY? I am paywalled from transferring what's left of my personal files? Clear indication that this company does not care whatsoever about their customers data. A massive middle finger from Mega and a final nail in the coffin. Avoid this company if you value your files.

I have been using Mega for.... some 13 years.
I use it mainly to back up documents, databases and the complete .conf library.
I have always use a Linux machine (RedHat/Ubuntu) never any issue.
Lately I had an issue with the Mega desktop client on my brand new laptop.
I have contacted the helpdesk via the channels offered and they helped me solve the problem. I consider mine a small problem with low importance, but the helpdesk answered me back every time within 2 days. I found that very adequate!
After 3 emails back and forth my issue was solved to full satisfaction.
Forget to mention that I am on the free/50gb plan.
Very happy with the support offered!

Good app, they have been very patient with me and understanding. I’ve asked them to restore my files multiple times and they did. I recently accidentally deleted my account and they restored it for me out of goodwill as they don’t usually do it I think but it’s a good app/ website. Honestly cheap as well to be honest. I just wish it was possible on the users end to restore all of our folders and files on our own end without having to ask the kind staff all the time
