I had a terrible experience with Panda

I had a terrible experience with Panda. My home burned down in 2018. In 2021 I had completed the design and decided to save some money by locking in the price of $160,000 for the windows. I gave Panda windows a $80,000 deposit. Because of illness in the family and delays by the building department, I was unable to start construction. In 2022 Panda came back and demanded a change order with a $30,000 price increase. I protested because the whole point of putting the money down was to lock in the price. They were very tough and insisted on the change order or a cancellation with a 5% fee. I protested because they had done no work other than take the order, hold my money and make interest on it. We argued for six months. In the end I gave in so I could finally get 90% of my money. So they took $8000, made interest, and did no work. I had the same situation with the other vendors who charged the small amount for the actual time they have spent on the project and refunded the balance. That is normal and reasonable. I would never do business with Panda windows again and I recommend you don't either.
