One month no elevator, often repairs!!!
My experience with Schindler elevators has been absolutely unacceptable.
We live in Belgium and have several Schindler elevators installed in our building. All of them regularly break down. We have now been without an elevator for over one month in a four-floor building.
There has been no clear feedback, no effective action, and no sense of urgency from Schindler. This situation is completely inadmissible, especially for families, elderly residents, and anyone with mobility issues.
Based on our experience, I can only strongly advise others to stay away from Schindler.

The Schindler group don’t fix their lifts properly and over charge just for turning up to a site where nothing is fixed properly - evening their recognitions joke about just sitting in their vans.
If possible get your lifts installed and serviced by another company that actually demonstrates proper customer service
Lift complaint
Dear Sir/Madam,
This is to bring to your urgent attention that the lift in B Tower of Shangri-La, Gorwa, Vadodara – 390003 has not been functioning for the last 15 days. Despite multiple visits, your engineer Ankit has been unable to resolve the issue.
Currently, one lift has been permanently down for 15 days, and the second lift breaks down almost daily (3–4 times a day). Due to this, residents are extremely frustrated, and more than 10 people have been stuck inside the lift over the past few days.
We request you to please intervene immediately and ensure a permanent resolution at the earliest, as this has become a serious safety concern for all residents.

Ascension Held Hostage day 37 of 100+
Hello from the 5th floor bldg 2 of Ascension, supposedly a "premier" rental experience. But not if you live away from the nightmare traffic noise of Beltway 8 on the should-be nice side with great views of Buffalo Bayou.
Except, we have NO remotely close elevator service for up to 30-40% of time ALL the time. Yep, this spring it was 3 MONTHS no elevator, now well over a month of maybe-it-works-maybe-it-doesn't we were told yesterday JUST TOUGH IT OUT ITS OUT UNTIL DECEMBER. And what is AOTB doing about it? Well, letting an elevator vendor letting them be their be-atch while absolutely NOTHING to help paying residents,
More carts to help with the 350 yd + plus hike to use the cargo elevator? Nope. Any kind of help with groceries or luggage? forget about it. Just completely unempethical "not our fault" form emails with ZERO solutions, no accommodation on our stunningly "premier" rent NOTHING. Yesterday I wrote a scathing review as our lift had been out of service for 5 days. Now I must thank the kindly gentlemen who arrived yesterday evening and fixed it in a trice. In future I will phone Schindler’s call centre directly.

Serious safety, contractual, and legal concerns about Schindler under UK law.
We urgently request intervention from Schindler UK Head Office. Our lift has been out of service and we are not getting any response from our account manager and his senior team.
Schindler is contractually obliged to carry out four preventive maintenance visits per year, including safety checks and an annual deep clean. To date in 2025, only one 15-minute visit has taken place, with no tools, incomplete reporting, and clear failure to meet contractual obligations. This is a breach of contract.
We are further alarmed by an engineer being seen jumping on the lift roof in 2024 - an unsafe and unacceptable practice. We raised a formal complaint and it has not been dealt with.
There is no working complaints process, and no ability to seek alternative providers. This raises serious safety, contractual, and legal (anticompetition) concerns about Schindler under UK law.

terrible service
terrible service, since January our lift was down for 16 weeks is total when we are in week 31. No explanation, no follow up, just random invoices for call outs. So far the worst service I have ever seen.

Absolutely appalling service
Absolutely appalling service, I have been waiting since November last year for repairs to be carried out on our company lift. Numerous emails and calls have been ignored, I have even emailed the Field Operations Director who promised a resolution but I am still waiting.

they tried to sell us a new elevator…
they tried to sell us a new elevator for 25k € instead of fixing the old one (20 yrs old). after an overhaul by another company, we actually spent 3k€. very bad service, never again Schindler

when we had a call out for a bit of kitchen roll covering sensor ! The engineer was here 3 hours !!! Yes 3 hours and a cost of over £1000 !

Told our lift shaft needed painting after 2 years ! Engineer told me it was spotless. At a cost of over £1200 , Industry recommendation is 5-10 years !

Was told we had a maintenance visit when in actual fact we didn’t . I checked on the cctv and saw no engineer turned up . I called him and said he went to service a lift at a different address as he got us mixed up. Nobody from the office would look into it when I asked for his arrival time ! I had to investigate that we paid for a service we never got ! I’ve put in a written complaint !

Was told by risk assessment safety signs need to be up and there are loose wires need replacing , after 2 years of asking I am told by the engineer the lose wires are fine and I don’t really need signage but he will get the office to send a quote !! Over £550 for a sign that costs £8 online and half a days work to put the sign up 😂😂😂😂. The service takes them no longer than 15 minutes but it takes him half a day to put a sign up with no nails ! It’s going to cost us £2k to leave for another lift company but it will cost us more in the end staying with them!!
Update : I have had a reply from the complaints manager who thankfully is taking this matter as seriously as it is and we have a scheduled telephone call for this week to discuss all prior issues .

Sole service provider lock-in with appalling service
Our Schindler lifts, 4 of them, intermittently and regularly malfunction inspite of monthly maintenance which takes them 3 days of blocking each main passenger lift for 1 day each. In a 36 story building with 3 basement parking levels this level of unavailability becomes completely disruptive to the lifestyles of residents and a danger to them in case of health emergencies where stairs are not an option.
The lifts have trapped people at times requiring emergency rescue to come to the apartment. Ropes had deteriorated with residents being told 'its safe to use until its replaced...'
The service provider, Trade Promoters Ltd is incapable at management and at service levels to provide any reliable or competent solutions reflecting a poor agency role for the Schindler brand in Sri Lanka.
Suggest to find better alternative service providers who display real care for safety first!

Awful lifts & service
Awful. 2 of the 3 lifts do not work in a building that is 23 floors high (location E14). This has been ongoing for 9 months. Even when working the lift is slow. All the residents are fed up.

Almost new equipment (3 years old) - 4 Travelators, 1 lift installed and serviced by Schindler. Based on data supplied from SLA a review of call/stoppages across all five [5] units for the period January 2023 through to December 2024 is listed below.
Total of all calls for this site over the twenty-four [24] months period was one-hundred sixteen [116].
Based on a twenty-four [24] months overall combined running average for the entire site excluding chargeable calls, the overall operating reliability and performance is defined as “Average to Poor” for all units by industry standards.

A never-ending unprofessional story
After 8 months they have still not finished installing the lift in my parents' apartment building in Italy (my parents are elderly and have difficulty walking). A fairly simple installation, 3 floors, a very wide staircase, no scaffolding required. The work was intermittent, with long periods of inactivity. Every time I asked about the timetable, they said they had other work to do. In November they promised to deliver the lift by the end of the year, but this has not happened. I'm currently asking for an update, but they're not responding.
After Schindler's reply, which you can see below, I gave them all the necessary details. I have done this over the past few months but nothing has happened. I'm not confident that they will do anything.
