Shuppi is a wonderful marketplace for digital creators to share their products, I love the fact that Shuppi offers low fees compared to other digital platforms where I sell my products.
Their user experience and interface is something that is simple and easy to use and is better than most of the other digital platforms I have come across. Being an invite-only marketplace also ensures that people also get high-quality products.
I however wish that they work more on product updates, that is, as a creator, when I update my product, maybe the description or images, it takes a while (a long while) before it actually reflects, it doesn't reflect immediately as the site says it will. But whatever the case is, it is overall a very good site.
I also wish they did more marketing or promotion, because more people need to know about this marketplace.
Who knows what the future holds for Shuppi?

I was invited to sell on Shuppi and…
I was invited to sell on Shuppi and thought, “Sure, I’ll check it out.”
Then I started reading the fine print — and wow. It was like playing a game of “Spot the Inconsistency” between what their staff told me and what their actual Seller Agreement says.
Turns out:
• Mandatory discounts
• Mandatory affiliate network participation
• Undisclosed payout fees
• And the platform can change your pricing or visibility whenever they want
All of this was only confirmed after I pushed repeatedly. Not exactly the trust-building experience you want from a new marketplace.
I’ve been in this industry a long time, and this is the only platform where you need detective skills just to figure out what you’re agreeing to. Hard pass.

I want to start with a sincere and unreserved apology. You are absolutely right to call out the inconsistencies between what you were told and what our agreement actually says. That is on me and on our very young internal processes, and I take full responsibility for the confusion and the poor experience.
We literally officially launched on Monday and are still putting better systems in place for how we communicate policies. Some of the responses you received were drafted with the help of AI, and in this case that introduced confusing and sometimes incorrect explanations. That is not an excuse, only context. It is our job to review and make sure everything we send to creators is accurate and consistent, and we did not do that well enough here.
On discounts
We do have a clause that allows Shuppi to run system wide promotions that can affect pricing during those events. The intent is to run these platform wide discounts only occasionally, with clear announcements ahead of time, so that all creators can benefit from extra traffic and higher conversion during those periods. For clarity, we have not run any system wide discounts yet, and when we do, they will be communicated in advance so creators know what to expect.
On the affiliate network
The affiliate network is a core part of how we want to help creators grow. Making all products available for affiliates to promote is intentional. It keeps things simple, removes friction, and gives affiliates confidence that they can promote any product they truly like without worrying about toggles and exceptions. This is a feature, not a bug, and one of the ways we hope Shuppi will become a strong differentiator that drives more sales for creators over time.
On undisclosed fees
You were also right about the payout fee not being clearly disclosed. The one dollar payout processing fee was not consistently visible across all surfaces. We have now corrected that. It is listed on the signup page and in our Help Center, and we will continue to audit our materials to keep everything aligned. Thank you for catching this.
On pricing and visibility controls
Like many platforms, our agreement gives Shuppi some flexibility around pricing during promotions and around how products are surfaced, for example in collections or featured areas. The intent is not to arbitrarily change creator pricing or hide products, but to allow us to run campaigns that lift the ecosystem as a whole. Your feedback makes it clear that we need to describe this much more plainly and transparently, and we are already revising our language to do that.
You are correct that your experience with us did not build trust. I appreciate that you took the time to dig into the details and to share your concerns publicly. It is exactly the kind of feedback that helps us improve quickly.
We are listening, we are updating our communication, and we are committed to doing better for creators going forward.
