The website is a barrier to success
When speaking to a person on the phone he was polite but utterly useless.
This was the second time I had to call. My premium rose by 50% so I called to see if I could get a better price. They did but only by raising the excess to a point where I’d only claim if the house burnt down.
Therefore I asked for the auto renewal to be removed. Two days later I got the new price and details in a letter saying it would auto renew, so I had to phone again to cancel that. Unnecessary things for me to do because they couldn’t do their job properly.
Good service; however, to make things quicker for me, I prefer to speak to a real person from the start and get things right first time instead of getting halfway through the procedure online and then timing out in order to start the process over. I find this very frustrating.

Once again I have returned to Tesco car insurance. Very happy. I only wish when it comes to renewal that they kept their prices sensible. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.
Very competitive rates for car insurance. The staff member I dealt with was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful she got my car insurance sorted in no time.
Buildings and Contents insurance is a must have for peace of mind so it is necessary irrespective of which company you eventually commit to.
That said, Tesco insurance were my chosen insurer for these services this year, after visiting a price comparison website.
However, it is disappointing that the majority of insurers (inc Tesco) only allow "no claims maximum of 9+ years". My no claims period is 44 years, showing a trend for my household, with a much reduced likelihood of a claim, which is not taken into account in Tesco's pricing.
